My friend was home from Canada so we decided to go for some traditional fish and chips. It was half past five on a Wednesday so we didn't expect it to be too busy. It took around fifteen minutes for our order to be taken then we had to wait nearly fourty minutes for our food! This is far too long in my opinion and could see other customers were getting agitated at their wait. There were two waitresses on, one of which was the manager. When the food arrived I gave to say it was brilliant, I had fish, chips, peas and gravy. We ordered bread and butter only to find one portion was just one slice which cost 35p! We come to Bizzie Lizzie's on a regular basis and this was by far the worst! It's ok having lovely food but the service really does need sorting.

Well situated near the High St, very generous portions and tasty fish n chips to be enjoyed either inside or to take away.

We visit Bizzie Lizzies a handful of times a year, mainly in winter, & always at Easter, it is half an hour's drive from home, but well worth it. We had been in Grange over Sands on 29th Sept, & decided to drive home via the A65 & Skipton just to call in at Bizzie Lizzies. We waited only a minute for a table to be cleared & cleaned & then we were seated. Our order was taken very quickly & in no time at all our fish & chips & filter coffee arrived. The fish & chips are consistently good, always fresh & hot, they are the best we have ever had anywhere. We ran out of creamers for the coffee, but asked the waitress & were provided with more immediately.
The restaurant is thoughtful in that it caters for pensioners who want a smaller portion, as I sometimes bring an elderly friend with me, so this option is ideal.
There are nearer fish & chip restaurants to home, (East Lancs) with higher reviews, but Bizzie Lizzies surpasses them by far. The cafe in the takeaway is also excellent, but can be a bit chilly in winter if you don't get a table by the radiator, & the hot drinks aren't as good as the restaurant, but I would still recommend it very highly. ( the food is exactly the same high quality)
I think Bizzies (their other establishment in Skipton which I have never visited) should have its own reviews as the reviews for there are having a negative impact on Bizzie Lizzies, which should be much higher up the list than it currently is.

On visiting the restaurant after a day in the fresh air in the Lake District we were both rather hungry and looking forward to a nice plate of fish and chips. We were certainly not disappointed as we opted for the pensioners special - fish and chips with bread and butter and ice cream for dessert. The fish was exceptional - very nice crispy batter with fresh flakes of lovely white fish - I can still taste it as it was delicious. The ice cream with a choice of sauces ended off the meal nicely - the total bill for the two of us with tea was just over £17 - bargain. The staff were very efficient, friendly and polite and we will certainly re-visit
