My husband, myself and two friends went to The Copper Dragon last Wednesday lunchtime. What a pleasant place this is. To be honest anyone just might get out off as you drive in, as you drive into a trading estate. Once you are inside its totally different a beautifully decorated little bistro/restaurant. There is a good selection of foods, both starters, main course and sweets. I had a prawn cocktail, one friend had garlic mushrooms, and another had mini fish and chips. My husband did not want a starter. The main courses were lovely, I had fish pie plus veg, my husband had jumbo fish chips and peas. One friend had a trio if fish plus veg and the other had steak plus chunky chips. All the meals were piping hot and they were presented beautifully. Nine of us wanted a sweet we had all had enough. The men both had the beer that was brewed at The Copper Dragon, they said it was a lovely drink. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming. I would recommend The Copper Dragon to anyone, its well worth a visit. On your way out you pass the shop that they have in which they sell all their beers, plus T shirts, polo shirts and other gifts which would be ideal to give as a gift .

From the outside, it seems uninspiring as this is an industrial unit on an industrial estate - although advertised and easily found from the main road. The Copper Dragon Brewery has a thriving visitor centre with this bistro attached. When we visited on a Friday evening, the place was about half full and although we were very late for our reserved table (traffic problems), there was no difficulty and the staff seemed to be ok.

The menu is quite extensive and the choices are good. One of the specials we both wanted - pork belly was not available, which was a little surprising, however our second choices were good. We had rib-eye steak (cooked perfectly medium rare as requested); steak & ale pie (smallish but delicious); and local speciality sausages (great). One starter was black pudding - lovely taste and nicely presented but not great value for the money. Deserts were crème brulee which were excellent. Overall, the food was of high quality with one exception - all the chips were soggy and soft.

We had different beers to drink - all were gorgeous and highly recommended. Why drink wine in a brewery?

Plus points: food, beer. staff friendliness. Minus points: very soggy chips (enough to take the rating down from excellent). Overall: recommended.

We were on our way to Skipton market & saw an 'A' board advertising the Skipton brewery bistro just off the main road into Skipton, did a 'u' turn & went in to find a really pleasant restaurant staffed by some friendly people. Now I am a lover of real ales & have always liked Skipton brewerys copper dragon ales, so ordered a pint of golden pippin beer, my wife had a glass of red wine, both were good. We ordered our meal, simply seafood starter to share, mains were seafood thermidor & belly pork with black pudding. Both meals were divine, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the staff were brilliant & even though the shop was closed they opened it for me to buy the inevitable souvenier polo shirt. A really enjoyable Good Friday.
