“Beautiful Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

We stayed in Room 1 the coach house for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend as hubby was on a course with Natural Light photography in Malham. The room was stunning, the outside of the hotel does not do this place any justice. The parking is a little confusing as you park behind Napiers, but you are not aware of this at the time. The rooms are immaculate and have everything you would need, tea coffee etc. The bed is so comfortable.
We also ate breakfast and an evening meal in Napiers. The lady who showed us to our room was the lady who served us at breakfast, a very busy lady, but very polite and attentive. Food was great, with plenty of choice, we was not rushed and service was excellent.
The wine bar area is the perfect place to unwind with a night cap, the Saturday night was very busy in there.
Skipton is a lovely market town and had enough to keep me amused for a few hours.
Would go back as it was a beautiful place. The complaints that I had read with regards to the clock, I was slightly concerned, yes the bells do go off and more on the Sunday but it never spoiled our stay one bit.

We spent 2 nights at Napier's in Skipton as our Daughter was getting married in the area and WOW were we looked after. we were a very large party and took over most of the rooms both in the hotel and in the coach house over the road. we had dinner on the first night and it was delicious. our rooms were stunning and in particular the Brides room amazing circular window with fab photo opportunities. breakfast on both days was really good and Ian and Julia couldn't do enough for us I can highly recommend staying ooh and its very close to the centre for shopping and my husband had some interesting conversations on clocks with Ian

Arrived 7.45 on a Friday night. A large party was in the restaurant so was shown to our room by a staff member. No information was given as to times of meals, breakfast and other general facilities ie wi fi etc. After having a lovely evening meal in Skipton town centre, we called back for a drink. All open, no one around to serve us, despite the denial of a staff member on the Saturday night.
The shower was a gentle trickle, and in no way matched the water pressure of the taps at the sink in the en suite!!! The seal under the shower screen had sections missing, so water from the shower went all over the floor. We used a towel to mop up!! We didn't report it, as there was no one to report it to!!
The decorative standard of the bathroom was poor!
The bed was 2 x divans pulled together to make a "queen size" type bed! The headboard was of 2 single boards. Our belief here was that it was a room with twin beds and not the executive double as advertised, and paid for.
All in all for the money paid, whilst we had a great time in Skipton, the room and Napiers was a real disappointment. Would we go back? No.

Just spent a couple nights at Napier's this was our second stay visiting friends who live in Skipton. The room was really lovely, cosy and warm fantastic bed you don't want to get out of but had to for a great welcome at breakfast (Karen the best poached eggs) This is home from home thanks Ian, Julia and Karen we will be back Gill and Lol Conwy.

Room Tip: Room one warm cosy lovely bed

We stayed here for 2 nights in September and ended up in room 6, or 9, some quirky thing about the decorators putting the door number on upside down.
I would love to have known when the decorator had been in because the room was poor!
The room needed decorating, also a good clean wouldn't have hurt.
The only positive was the linen and towels were clean. The room was not worth £85 a night.
Because of the room experience we never ate in the hotel so cannot comment on the food.
Skipton itself was a nice town and we will be back but not to this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't take room 6, or 9. They are the same room. Quirky thing with the decorators

What sort of accommodation would you expect to find in a Yorkshire market town like Skipton?
Lots of good, honest, friendly landlady run B & B in Victorian/Edwardian terraces. Great value but maybe lacking in some style. Maybe an out of Town new hotel fit for conferences, weddings etc. Such hotels are clean, bright, user friendly with corporate decor. and corporate functions. Of course there are the usual Pubs and High Street Hotels. What I didn't expect to find was "The Coach House". A former Georgian Inn which retains many original features together with the best 21C design. We stayed in room 7 at the top of the house. Open beamed ceiling, huge King/Queen/ and all Royal Family bed. Deep Duck duvet, plumpacious pillows. Walk in shower, bath for two at the end of the bed and decorated with all the correct colours throughout. Quiet, warm, discreet. and very romantic. Breakfast was served in Napiers, just across the road. All locally sourced produce and very well cooked. The witty and benevolent Yorkshire Inn Keeper showed us to our room, his equally welcoming Inn Keeperess was on hand to help and "Mrs Bridges" served breakfast and probably kept the whole thing together. At £170.00 for B & B this may sound a high price for the locality but it was worth every penny and good value. We will visit again.

Stayed here for 1 night found by accident while walking around skipton, what a wonderful place, were greeted by a very friendly Julie we got the last two rooms after a very busy weekend for them having just had two wedding receptions there, they did warn us it may be a little noisy late into the night but that didnt bother us just for the one night, we were made to feel very very welcome & the rooms & breakfast were excellent, couldnt fault anything.

Room Tip: Asked to be moved if given the attic room unless you are only 5ft tall our friends were asked if the...
