We have been using this great restaurant since moving to the area a couple of years ago. We enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Since taking over a little while ago Giorgio has maintained the quality of the food and the atmosphere with traditional Italian dishes and music. This is as authentic as it gets this side of Napoli!

The blackboard enhances the customer experience and provides a nice opportunity to interact with the owner / head waiter, which is so often missing......... The wine list compliments the food and is very reasonably priced. This remains one of the best restaurants in Skipton and we will return again and again.

We were looking forward to our meal here as the reviews are all good. However, we were disappointed. The restaurant staff were friendly and polite but the menu was limited. I understand this is acceptable if the quality of dishes is good but we found our meals bland and uninspiring. I had a prawn and avacado starter and mushrom pizza all using the most basic of ingredients ie small prawns and a few button mushrooms. While my husband had more success with his starter of roasted goat's cheese and his main of pork but he felt the accompanying vegetables to both meals were undercooked. Finally the pudding selection was so poor we even went without-a first!

make no apologies for not agreeing with all the other reviews..can only speak as we found it and were very disappointed as not to our standards..if a restaurant cant even cook vegatables properly then not much chance for the rest of the meal ??
the lack of a menu is a joke....the owner stands over you with blackboard with the starters an mains chalked up and describes every dish....by the time he has explained 3 dishes you have forgotten what the first was and dont like to keep asking him to repeat its not good if you want a nice relaxing night..having to try and recall all the dishes..you feel very rushed
The choice or lack of it was a joke one chicken dish that consisted of it being in bread crumbs and deep fried..nice !, a steak that you could only have cooked how the chef wanted it cooked..hello who is the customer ?? what was explained as rack of lamb which turned out to be 3 fried lamb chops served swimming in grease.. again you are expected to have them served pink as the chef may otherwise "cremate" them and yep that is just what he did. Think in total there were about 7 main dishes to choose from so the choice was abysmal
Starters..we both went for avocade as again not much choice and couldnt recall everything anyway.... around the £7 for HALF an avocade with a few prawns on top served on a bit of spinach total ripoff
the vegetable served..well I dont know how the chef had to cheek to send them out. I would never have served anything up looking like they did i would have been ashamed
burnt and dried round the edges..the potatoes had one burnt side then the other side were insipid looking and not cooked very and unappetising..cabbage was old and soggy..goodness knows how many times it had been re heated ..a disgrace
dessert of apple pie was just a supermarket boxed one..very inventive !!
so all in all a waste of time and money....perhaps we went on an off night, but can only review how it was ..not to our standard
with such limited choice you would expect the food to be excellent .. get a chef who can at least cook vegetables and not burn lamb chops and serve them dripping in grease cant be too difficult ?

A lovely restaurant, authentic Italian very friendly service. The food was lovely, I had a stuffed pepper with tomato sauce, perfect size to enjoy without spoiling the main course. Homemade lasagne and mixed salad for main which had a twist so not just standard Italian dishes. Prices are very reasonable, I think these two totalled about £14. Will definitley return on our next visit to Skipton

This Italian is by far the best in the surrounding area. It has bundles of charm and character and the food it amazing.
The owner is very friendly and makes you feel very welcome, it's just like Italy with the great Italian music.
The food is delicious and you can buy food from their own deli.
A must visit restaurant!!
