A very worthwhile place to visit, sensibly priced and very interesting. Plenty of worthwhile information to read as you make your way around, although a bit basic you do get a feel for how it was to live there back in the day.

When in Skipton you should see the castle once. It is a bit raw (no furniture etc.) so don't expect to truly see how the royals lived.

While it's not as big as Hampton castle, it's still a great palace to visit. You are in your own to explore but you can get the audio guide which is worth it.

This was a long awaited return to this Castle, which I last visited as a schoolboy. It was lovely to see it again, and in such good condition, and much as I remembered it. The dungeon, however, now appears much smaller than I recalled it to be.

We explored every part of the castle, which must be amongst the best preserved in the world.
It was easy to find our way around it, with good information signs showing how the various rooms would have looked back in the day.

The sun shone brightly on the town, which is all dressed up ready for the Tour de France Grand Depart. This was a most enjoyable visit.
