The Kilnsey Park Tea Room has had a make-over since we visited last year. A re-arranged, more efficient/smaller retail area has allowed for more people to be accommodated - this includes two large sofas (either side of a coffee table) for those wishing to avail themselves of a 'lounging' option. Personally speaking, I would have created two smaller 'lounging' areas - to allow two independent groups to have their 'own' space rather than have to share the one larger one - sitting across from strangers. Pot tea for two' was enjoyed in our own space :-) at a table.

The tea-room was doing a roaring trade and, as usual, cakes and menu were varied. Free WiFi is on offer, which is handy to remember, just in case. Check out the website to see what else is on offer at the Park.

Thanks for your review. Glad you like the new sofa area, we hope it feels more relaxed so guests are better able to enjoy the Kilnsey experience. Always looking to improve further, so thanks for your suggestions about having two smaller sofa areas.

Came here on Mother's Day..spent £6 on 2 rods in the little ponds where decent sized trout where happily jumping up to be caught! After hooking and then whacking on the head..4 lovely trout we took then to be weighed..you keep what you catch...so with £12 on top if initial £6 we came away with fat fresh prepared trout.. Cooked for tea once home and was fabulous! Great for little ones.... Great for mums and dads who want to look good in front of their kids at "catching" fish!! All round good trip out x

Thanks for your great review. If you enjoyed the fun fishing then you will love our blue fish competition running throughout the school holidays. All you have to do is hook a blue fish and you will win a family season pass to the Kilnsey Trail!

We wanted to find something fun to do with our two boys (ages 6 & 4) and remembered some family bringing us here before. When we arrived, the chap on the counter suggested we buy a family ticket for the day which gave us entry to the farm, nature trail, use of the (modest) play area, but the real attraction was the fishing - all for under £20! We had a great day, real quality family time - arriving at 0930 and we didn't leave until after 2pm! Although the animal farm is reasonably small, that's part of the attraction - a couple of sheep, goats, alpacas, free-wandering hens and chickens... not too much that you can't see it all, enough to feel family-friendly. We caught 4 trout which was a brilliant experience for the boys - they loved having their pictures taken with their 'catch', and the staff were only too happy to gut the fish for us to take home for dinner. We stopped in at the restaurant for some lunch around midday and, although it was a wee bit pricey, it was quality food and the staff were super friendly and accommodated the boys nicely. (Free coffee top-ups are a plus point!). Thanks for a lovely time. We'll be back!

We have visited here a few times now - neither of us are into fishing so we visit for the shop & restaurant.
We have had breakfast & lunch in the restaurant - everything we have had there has been top quality. The ploughmans has to be the best I've ever had. As far as the breakfast is concerned - I don't think the Bacon has been separated from the pig for long it's very fresh & very tasty.
We have had some great little gems from the shop too - I don't think you pay over the odds for the quality you get. The item we have to make a bee line for is the Parkin Cookies - just gorgeous!!
The chap who manages / owns the place is very friendly. He always remembers you no matter how long it is since you last went. Because he & his staff are so nice they got lots of people visiting frequently & care homes make trips there with residents. The staff have the same patience & lovely demeanour with everyone who visits. This morning we were warming up in the sun in the car park after a night of rainy camping just before they opened when 2 of the girls who work there arrived - both were saying how much they love working there - this was genuine before they even saw us so the happy atmosphere is explained - the staff are happy!!!
There's plenty of car parking outside for customers. The parking bays are not marked so remember to be courteous to other visitors by parking neatly so there's room for everyone!
I can reccomend this place to anyone either for a nice drive out or if you are passing.
