Great place to walk on well maintained paths, with fantastic views approx 4.5 miles around reservoir. Take your time and enjoy one of my favourite walks. Toilets in the car park are very clean

Drive into the car park, and you have a great view over the reservoir. There are toilets and facilities, and great picnic tables - if they are full there is plenty of space to throw down a blanket and enjoy time out in the fresh air. The walk around the reservoir was pretty easy - take your time and savour the views.

We went on this walk on a glorious sunny day (15/4/2014) taking a leisurely stroll around the reservoir .A lovely walk and not too arduous and approx 1and a half hour duration. There is a couple of areas with a rocky incline but shouldn,t prove to be too much of an effort. We went clockwise and its about 4.5 miles around, mostly on good pathways.Beautiful views and plenty of wildbirds to look at and a few seating areas.A few preserved farm buildings and a thatched barn along the way.The free car park is excellent with toilet facilities and numerous picnic tables. This is a lovely place to visit and enjoy a picnic and to get away from it all.Thoroughly recommended

This reservoir is high up - over 1,000 feet. The basic circuit is 4.5 miles. It is possible to extend further - Trollers Gill or towards Stump Cross, but a shame that access over to the moors is not a bit easier.

Served by a good car park. Though much of the path is comprised of vehicle tracks or having a good service, there are substantial chunks which are narrow and get very muddy. A bit of a shame that the Water Co (Kelda?) don't spend a bit more of their cash on this. Definitely a wellies route rather than boots.

Well recommended.
