Description: The Priests House is a function venue specialising in weddings, medieval banquets and other family celebrations, together with being an occasional fine dining establishment especially catering for Sunday lunches. The Priests House is set on a grade 1 site in he shadow of the ruin of Barden Tower in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The house itself was originally built to be the chapel and accommodation supporting the 100 or so residents of the Tower. It is truly medieval building and retains many of the original features. The House itself can only dine up to 34, but for larger events we have two marquees which can be set up alongside. The views and scenery on all sides of the house are fabulous.

Have e mailed as per e mail address on web site , got a reply to say I would need to telephone . I tried a couple of times , no reply eventually decided to leave a message , confirming date , time , number , name and left contact telephone number , one week later no reply. This is poor , guess they do not want business, no way to run a business . Why have an e mail address to book , when it obviously can not be done. How else are people supposed to book. Very disappointed ,never experienced anything like this before. No doubt if you do manage to get a reply , and get a reservation , it may be good / excellent , but you need a reservation first.

This is one place you must go to if you want a lovely meal and it is not expensive for the portions you get. The food is out of this world, very friendly and clean.

Can I also say, this is a fantastic place for a wedding or special occasion........ ** Please book so you are not disappointed**.

Been to the Priests House for the first time today for Sunday Lunch and what can I say other than if you haven't been here you really MUST. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and the food is amazing, the best we have had, ever, no exaggeration. Can't wait to return in the near future.

We went to The Priest House for a friend's wedding in September. What an amazing place!!! The grounds and buildings are amazing. The wedding was held in a marquee and the food was unbelievable!! I've never been to a wedding or large event where the food was so good. I met the chef earlier in the day as I delivered the wedding cake, really nice guy, cares about his food. This is a place that makes the effort to make weddings very special and go without a hitch. Fantastic all round :o)
