Description: The Priests House is a function venue specialising in weddings, medieval banquets and other family celebrations, together with being an occasional fine dining establishment especially catering for Sunday lunches. The Priests House is set on a grade 1 site in he shadow of the ruin of Barden Tower in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The house itself was originally built to be the chapel and accommodation supporting the 100 or so residents of the Tower. It is truly medieval building and retains many of the original features. The House itself can only dine up to 34, but for larger events we have two marquees which can be set up alongside. The views and scenery on all sides of the house are fabulous.

you've really got to give the priest house a try . my husband and I got married here in November 2012 and went back for our anniversary and had the sunday lunch .firstly I have to compliment Debbie and mark for our wedding day , there was only five of us but our 3 guests said how much they were made to feel special by Debbie ,mark and all the staff . Debbie took care of everything from the décor ,flowers ,cake ,gave us contact to an excellent photographer ,and even though it was raining the photos were fun.on both occasions the food was amazing , all good quality produce ,the food was hot and we weren't rushed.honestly if you want a lovely wedding with an amazing ,happy ,stress free wedding with amazing food this is the place to book

A big thank you to the staff of the Priests House, we had a wonderful family lunch there yesterday, the staff are always friendly and ready to please and the food was once again amazing. There were 20 of us to look after and they did it brilliantly. If you haven't discovered this gem yet please please do, you will not be disappointed. Just remember to book first! Once again to Debbie and the team, we will most definitely be back soon x

Our daughter had her wedding reception here recently. Everything about the day was the best. The organisation by Debbie and her team was superb and we were looked after really well. The food was excellent - we had eaten lunch here previously and the standard was just the same. The location is superb with views of the ancient buildings of Barden and with the dales all around.

Will go again for lunch soon.

Firstly i totally disagree with the last review, i had no trouble with booking, when calling to book if they do not answer there is a voice message to ring two mobile numbers, i rung a lovely lady call Debbie who booked me in that same week no problem.
The meal was gorgeous food was amazing (better than the Devonshire Arms in my opinion) Service was great and it was a full room, i can see how they do so well as i was very happy with it all. Great value for money. Clean and cosy. I would recommend this place to everyone. I will definitely be back

Have e mailed as per e mail address on web site , got a reply to say I would need to telephone . I tried a couple of times , no reply eventually decided to leave a message , confirming date , time , number , name and left contact telephone number , one week later no reply. This is poor , guess they do not want business, no way to run a business . Why have an e mail address to book , when it obviously can not be done. How else are people supposed to book. Very disappointed ,never experienced anything like this before. No doubt if you do manage to get a reply , and get a reservation , it may be good / excellent , but you need a reservation first.
