“Proper Yorkshire Pub”
Reviewed 17 November 2013 via mobile

Had Sunday lunch here. It's a nice country pub, with a good car park close to the Yorkshire Dales Steam Railway (also worth a visit). We got a friendly reception, traditional British food with a good choice of starters and mains, and excellent deserts - especially the brioche bread and butter pudding. The Otter bitter is well worth sampling as well!

“Perfect dales pub”
Reviewed 11 October 2013

I always love a visit to the dales and try whenever possible to visit the Cavendish Arms. It's a lovely old building and a great little pub inside with a number of cosy rooms. The beer choice is always excellent and well kept, and the food is great too.

The welcome is great here, I'll definately be calling again!

“Good food and a friendly welcome”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

An unspoiled traditional village pub serving excellent food. A wide ranging menu of traditional fare but with imagination. A blackboard changing weekly has interesting seasonal specials.
All meals are prepared to order and served by friendly staff in the pleasant dining room or you can eat in the bar. To the rear is a quiet garden when you can eat or just enjoy a drink.
There is a good selection of beers and an interesting selection of malts.
We have dined here on numerous occasions and never been disappointed.
Booking at weekends is recommended.

A friendly village pub with well cooked and presented local produce served in a very pleasant dining room with wood burning stove. An excellent wine and whisky selection and also good selections of hand pulled beers.a good old fashioned pub with modern touches and friendly staff.
