“Not the room we booked”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2014 via mobile

Mixed feelings after staying here. We booked an executive suite through booking.com but were gutted that the website pictures are VERY misleading. Don't go expecting the jaccuzi as we did. There is only one and it is in the bridal suite. So cannot understand why its picture is on this site as an executive suite, as I would be amazed if you can book it from the web. The receptionists did their best to make it up to us by including breakfast and a drink in the price, but nothing makes up for something that you were looking forward to and expecting, particularly as it was the room that made us choose a night away in Skipton. We had no other reason to be there. We were also told that the executive suites are all the same by the receptionist, but this is totally untrue as we have been in 2 out of 3 of them, one had a normal bath and the other a four poster bed and corner bath.
The room we had was large, comfortable and clean, but there was a lot of water noises through the night which was annoying and disturbed our sleep.
Breakfast was very pleasant. For a buffet the food was high quality and the staff attentive. You eat looking out across the canal and beautiful hills. A real high point, as were the leisure facilities which are good quality.
Think I will book in a different way in future, not sure who to blame for our disappointment, but someone misled us. Had we not been misled, we would probably have been delighted with this room.
The mile walk along the canal to Skipton is also very pleasant.

A perfect venue for an Annual Meeting. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff with service extra to that which had been previously agreed generously offered. An excellent lunch was served by pleasant, friendly staff and tea for over 400, usually a problem at such events was served quickly and efficiently. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone planning a similar event.

This was our 2nd visit (April 2014) and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a canal view room (208) which was clean, spacious and quiet. The views are stunning to wake up to. Fortunately we had great weather, which makes the walk along the canal much easier! The walk into Skipton centre either on the main road or on the canal path is approximately 20-25 minutes.

The food was equally as good as last time, we were BB with 1st nights meal included. The choice on the menu for the evening meal is varied and the food was served without a hitch. They even had gluten free bread for my partner (which does make a difference!)
The breakfast is buffet style with waitress service for beverages and toast. The view over the canal whilst having breakfast is very scenic and the swans/ducks provide a little entertainment - as do the passing barges! The staff are extremely helpful.

We used the gym/pool/sauna early morning - it wasn't too busy and was a great start to the day!
The overall atmosphere in the hotel is very calm and relaxing.
Can't wait to return again in the summer! I have already convinced some of my work colleagues to visit (I am a travel agent) and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to my clients :)

Just attended another charity event at the Rendevous.
The food is absolutely excellent despite the numbers of people being catered for. The staff are efficient and always pleasant and helpful.
Lovely rooms over-looking the Yorkshire Dales and the canal-side.
Great value for money.
We will return again and again, no doubt!

Room Tip: try to get canal-side

The staff were really friendly and very good with our 3 year old. Yes the décor is a bit outdated but this didn't matter as it was clean and very good value. We had dinner and breakfast which were lovely. The views from the restaurant were lovely.

We booked this hotel for a family meal after our wedding in Skipton. The hotel were really helpful and professional at the planning stage and couldn't have been more accommodating and efficient on the day. First class food and service in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Several family members stayed overnight and all spoke highly of the accommodation, the facilities and the value for money. Mark the food and beverages Manager deserves a special mention for ensuring that everything went smoothly for us on the day.

Stayed for one night for a wedding function,Sunday to Monday. The Hotel is located on the old road about a mile out of Skipton and appears to be a converted mill.iIt backs on to the Leeds Liverpool canal and has the dining room room facing the canal and the hills making for a pleasant outlook.Every thing was great we occupied one of the front road facing rooms which had slight road noise, the room had a single and a double bed and was very spacious clean and tidy as was the whole of the Hotel. We had breakfast, luncheon and an evening meal during our stay and all were of good quality and good proportions. We did not try any of the leisure facilities.
At breakfast we were approached by the owner and by his demeanour it was apparent this was a usual occurrence. We would definitely stay here again

Room Tip: The front rooms are roadside but it is not an exceptionally busy road at night so not too bad.
