Harvey's has recently changed ownership and the restaurant has been refurbished to very high standards it is small but clean and comfortable and tastefully decorated. The restaurant looks over the canal and boats can be seen arriving and leaving skipton. We have eaten here twice and the last time we visited I could not write a review because the restaurant was not listed. Both visits we were made extremely welcome. The service is friendly and relaxed. We ordered fish and chips plus jacket potato with cheese. The fish are offered in different sizes. Other food available includes salads, scampi and plaice. There are starters and desserts available too plus a good choice of beverages including alcoholic drinks. The specials board offers extra choices on all 3 courses. We felt that the prices are average for the area. We can highly recommend and will be returning again.

This new refurbished, and changed ownership, fish and chip restaurant was a great find. Looking for somewhere to eat after going ten-pin bowling, three grandparents and three grandchildren (aged 13, 11 and 9) decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. Spotlessly clean, light and airy and with views over the urban part of the canal, the service was swift and friendly. Five of us chose haddock and chips and opted for the smaller portion of fish. Three sizes were on offer - goodness knows what the 'whopper' portion was like! Ours were more than filling - beautifully fresh fish cooked in light and crispy batter, and the chips were good too. The bread and butter that came with the fish and chips meant that chip butties were possible .. and the mushy peas were declared 'excellent'. Various sauces were provided - exactly what we wanted. The sixth member of our party opted for a giant Yorkshire pudding with four sausages, chips and gravy and pronounced in 'gorgeous'. All in all, an excellent 'eating experience' and fitted the bill exactly. Can highly recommend.
