We love this place, from the comfy well presented cottage to the fabulous Farmer Rob's feeding rounds. Add in the play area, castle and trampoline and your children won't want to explore the beautiful local area and when you do they will be asking what time your going back! We have visited 6 times now and I can not recommend it enough. Farmer Rob and Fiona are fantastic with the kids teaching them how to properly feed and look after the animals. This time even the cow delivered it's calf spot on time! See you next year the kids are on count down already!!
We stayed for 3 nights towards the end of the easter half term, the coach house is very clean even with my high standards for cleanliness.2 adults 3 children from 2 to 17. The heating throughout was very good and warm as was the shower, there is also a bath for young children but take your own bathmat or toddler extras such as step up stools etc as they are not supplied. There are a few dvds and toddler friendly plates ,bowls, which came in handy. There was a stairgate supplied which we requested at the bottom of the stairs but the one at the top was a pain as you had to leave it on or completely take it off....a pain with older children coming up and down frequently. The bottle feeding of the lambs was pleasant and the park at the back was nice for the children which they enjoyed. The highchair i asked for wasnt supplied but we did manage without. The only thing that it does need in my opinion is a tumble dryer as if your stay is longer than a few days it would be essential. The negative is on the feeding rounds which we went to which was only on one occasion my 6yr old was a little nervous and shy of some of the animals and didnt want to take part with some of them and farmer rob wasnt sensitive what so ever and called my daughter a woos and a towney a few times, this is not a professional attitude to take and he should know better, surely he deals with lots of different children from all walks of life. We wer there to experience something different,if a child chooses not to take part in going into the pig pen etc then that is there choice and shouldnt be commented on making the child and parent feel awkward. Most disappointing and let the whole experience down
We recently stayed in the 2 bedroom Hayloft at Cwmcrwth Farm with our 20 month boy.
The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed, including stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs for peace of mind.
The farm itself is lovely with a range of animals ready for a cuddle! Our boy loved going on the farmer's rounds in the morning, and having a donkey ride put the biggest smile on his face! We were lucky enough to meet a calf only born a few hours ago.
Rob and Fiona are very welcoming and made sure our stay was special.
We would love to come again in the future. I can't recommend Cwmcrwth holiday cottages enough!
These three cottages are excellent, and warm for cold autumn evenings; very good facilities in the cottage and grounds. Feeding the animals each day was well run, with full participation. Rob and Fiona were very helpful about good places to visit with small children. The Coop in Llandeilo, 5 miles away, is well stocked.
This is one of the best places I've ever stayed out. First of all, the communication with Fiona was super easy, we'd had another host cancel on us so we had a very small window and Fiona could not have been more helpful. Then the actual space - WOW! It was such an open plan, yet cosy space and for us as a team, it was wonderful to have communal hang out space and yet the luxury of 2 bathrooms, a log burner and a well equipped kitchen. Fiona was even graceful with us about checking out, and we were able to stay a little longer. Now we've all been and experienced The Coach House and the wonderful farm around it, we are definitely hoping to return soon.
After an overnight flight from the US to London and three days in an expensive Westminster hotel with our 17 month old daughter, a week on the farm was perfect. Very friendly, relaxed atmoshere on a beautiful property. Rob and Fiona were very accomadating and super friendly, as well as a wealth of knowledge of the area, pig farming, etc. . Most of all our daughter had a blast, every day! We hope to come back some day. - Jade, Joanna & Juliet
We had such a great time! My almost three year old was quite besotted with Farmer Rob and loved following him around for the morning animal feed. The farm is well located for lots of great tourist attractions too. Accommodation was very comfortable and had everything you would need / expect. Loved that there were only 3 units there too - nice and quiet. Thanks Fiona and Rob!
