Booked this hotel for an overnight stay so we could attend a wedding party at Carmarthen Athletic RFC, which was an interesting walk away.
The reception and staff were friendly and helpful even though we arrived early while they were having lunch.
Don't worry about parking it's not as difficult as some say and there's plenty of spaces.
The room was large extremely well furnished, clean and modern and that also applies to the en suite. The breakfast was plentiful, delicious and it was a pleasure to enjoy thick salty bacon beautifully cooked with a bottomless coffee cup thrown in.
The hotel is very central and there are lots of interesting pubs restaurants and shops close at hand including Carmarthen Market which is a delight.
We'd really recommend this hotel and will hopefully be staying again to spend a bit more time in the area.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 7 overlooking the front of the hotel on the top floor. It was quiet and suited us...

Stayed in this hotel on a Saturday night, very friendly staff and the rooms were spacious. Location is ideal with the hotel backing onto the shopping area, all very quiet though. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a restaurant but they recommended a lovely Indian restaurant, fab breakfast, overall very good value for money

Booked on the morning that we decided to go to Brechfa Forest bike park.
Thoroughly recommended.
We were greeted by the owner who changed our room so we could store our safely bikes.
The room as a very good size, very well decorated and well stocked with tea & coffee.
The breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely friendly & helpful.
I would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: The room we had in the car park was great because it took away the feeling of being in a hotel.

Thoroughly recommended.
Our room was in an annex (number 26) which had just been refurbished, and there were a couple of teething trouble gremlins, but soon put right as builders were finishing the next room, so were immediately available to do so. It should all be finished by now. The night safety lights (green) need adjusting as it was far too strong a light at night. Hopefully that has been dealt with.We had a splendid suite with separate living room and spacious bathroom. The only snag was the first morning, having to don rainwear to walk over the courtyard to breakfast. I think intending guests should be informed prior to booking, if an annex room is to be allocated, but I must emphasise the room was excellent in every other respect. Very quiet sleep was enjoyed and I would actually ask for an annex room next time.

Breakfast provision was excellent. I cannot remember whether fresh soft fruit was offered, as we ate cooked, but certainly fresh hard fruits were available.

The location of this hotel is superb. One simply walked out under the old coaching arch into a street with restaurants, supermarket and Wetherspoons pub, just literally yards away and a car was not needed, as all visitor sites (Castle) were within walking distance or reachable (Gwili Railway, County Museum) by bus from a covered stop, just up the road by St Peter's church.

Stayed in an executive double room (see attached photos) which overlooked the car park, and I have to say that it was a really comfortable one night stay. Room was spacious, bed comfortable and good quality shower/bathroom. Staff were friendly and although the entrance to the car park is tight, it is manageable. Location of the hotel is handy as just behind it there is a pub, convenience store and curry house.

Stayed in other hotels in Carmarthen previously, however if the opportunity arises will book this one ahead of the rest.

We stayed for 2 nights in Room 11 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was very nicely finished and blissfully quiet and the breakfast choices were good.
The staff were helpful and we would not hesitate to recommend the hotel.
The car park entrance is, as described quite tight but if you follow the directions given it is no trouble.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the courtyard if possible.

My wife and I stayed at the Spilman Hotel, again, for another visit with the family. The staff, as always, were fantastic; the room was perfect and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be staying at the hotel again and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: All the rooms are fantastic - you can't go wrong!
