Great location, good food, friendly helpful staff but needs a cosmetic facelift particularly as you walk in off the street.
Very old fashioned and chintzy which isn't helped by the total silence and near empty bar, restaurant and lounge.

Eva was a warm, excellent and professional welcome to the Falcon Hotel, Our welcome host was very helpful and friendly, she provided excellent customer service. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and as stated within all information given. The room and hotel had all the facilities needed and offered more for our stay. I would recommend to family and friends. The location was easy to find, in a central location to access some beautiful parts of Carmarthenshire.
The only suggestions I would make are not to serve value lemonade with drinks, you can tell it wasn't a quality lemonade.
Breakfast needs a few tweaks to make it perfect, we were not offered cereals, the toast came almost immediately with tea, coffee and juice, so unfortunately when our hot food came the toast was cold, I had the smoked haddock with great quality free range eggs, my partner had the cooked breakfast, unfortunately not liking tomatoes no other option was offered which made the breakfast a little dry and bare.
Overall I would recommend the Falcon Hotel and would stay again, thank you for a pleasant stay.

This is a superb family run Hotel which has been in the same ownership for very many years. We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night and could not fault the smooth running of the operation. Our room had obviously been recently updated and lacked for nothing a 5star hotel room could have offered. The food and service were of the highest quality and could not be faulted in any
way. We had the Easter Sunday lunch which proved to be terrific in every sense. You need have no
fears about booking a stay at this establishment, we will be returning in due course.

My mum often goes here for lunch with friends. She took me on one occasion, and I was so impressed by the menu, food, service and value for money I have been there several times since.

Lunch is usually in a small, pleasant room. Tea and coffee and other drinks can be taken in another open area with an open fire and lots of comfy seating grouped around low tables.

There is a good sized function room for events, and this was used on Mother's day when we took a party of 5 for lunch. Despite being full to capacity there we could not fault the food or service. Again it was good value for money. We then spent a pleasant afternoon taking out tea by the fireside.

Last Friday we booked an evening table for 12 of us to celebrate a birthday party. The age range was from 13 to 83 and it suited us all.

It was excellent! There was a wide variety of fish and meat on the menu - something for everyone, and the food was absolutely delicious. Between us I think we had every choice and everyone was delighted with the quality and quantity of what was served. The food arrived promptly and more or less at the same time so no one was waiting.

A particular member of staff, May has looked after us on several occasions. A lovely lady; genuine customer service and nothing is too much trouble. She even put up with my brother's party antics re enacting several children's TV programmes and taking on the persona of Windy Miller. Thank you for humouring him May!

I eat out often and would not hesitate to take friends here for a girly lunch or a special event.

See you there again soon.

For the money I was expecting good quality. I've stayed in budget hotels which were better equipped. The food was priced like a posh restaurant but the quality was worse than a cheap cafe. The mattress was a tired old thing full of lumps and springs. It had a plastic sheet on it which I just could not sleep on. The extractor from the kitchen was running all night and chip fat smell filled the room when I opened the window. The receptionist was the waiter and the barman. This means they couldn't afford or didn't need more staff because no guests want to stay there. There was no atmosphere and downstairs smelt damp. It was located in the middle of town which was convenient for the shops etc. but the characters hanging around on the streets meant I stayed inside all night. If the place had cost half the price it would have been acceptable. It is the same as a dodgy old seaside b&b not a quality hotel like it seems to be claiming.
