“A real Irish gem! With fantastic hosts.”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

What a pleasure it was to have stayed with Aisla and Tom at this lovely B&B on the southern outskirts of Cookstown. Location was perfect for day trips to the North, NE and East. We spent two nights at Avondale and rate it one of the best B&B's during our 12 days touring Iteland. Upstairs room was cosy and comfortable, despite a bed that was a bit firm for our liking. Ambience was warm and friendly. Aisla and Tom take obvious pride in their home - fastidiously clean and tidy. We enjoyed amiable conversations with both Aisla and Tom - Aisla being a keen craft person with amazing talent, with some of her craft work on sale in her home. Tom was an amazing craftsman in his own right, making beautiful violins in his spare time! And even giving us a demonstration of his fiddle playing skills. Food was great. Advice on places to eat in Cookstown were spot on. Aisla even did some laundry for us whilst we were away for the day. A truly relaxing stay and highly recommended.

Murray & Janice BAILEY (Aust)

Room Tip: I am sure all of the rooms presented by Aisla would be great!

We spent a wonderful evening at the Roughan Lough B&B. Ann was a wonderful hostess, the room was very nice and comfortable and breakfast was great. We stayed in the first floor room with it's own sitting room and bathroom, it was great. It would be good for a family of four too.

I spent three weeks at Roughan Lough B&B whilst I was on placement at the local Health Centre. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. There was also a lovely view of the Lough from my bedroom. It is in a very peaceful location. In addition, the food was excellent- I never went hungry! The owners Mr and Mrs Badger are lovely people and they made me feel very at home whilst I was staying there. There is hot water available for showers all the time and towels and hairdryers are provided. There is also free wifi which was great and a television in my bedroom. In the evenings I sometimes took a walk around the Lough and the scenery is beautiful. I couldn't recommend this B&B highly enough. I think it would be very difficult to find better hospitality anywhere else. Mr and Mrs Badger were brilliant hosts and I can't thank them enough for making my stay so enjoyable. I would recommend this B&B very highly to anyone- it is excellent!

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the house have a lovely view of the Lough.

Stayed at Roughan Lough B&B on several occasions whilst working in the area. The rooms were spotless and breakfast cooked to order. Anne treats her guests like family, with a warm welcome and outstanding care. Would certainly recommend this B&B .

Really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful location and fantastic views of the lough from the ground floor room which was perfect for my elderly Mum. Ann was very welcoming and a great host. Would definitely recommend this B&B.
