“Lovely building and interesting museum”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

It's only a small museum but nicely set out, goes through the history of the town. There's a lovely cafe to relax and enjoy a coffee afterwards too.

“Interesting local museum”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

Visited this local museum today with my family some interesting things to see...old fire engine, armour and weapons, old coins and clothing and even some bones. The foyer area has a cafe, tourist information, toilet facilities and a gallery. Also on display is the uniform jacket worn by Prince William for his wedding rehearsal, he is the Baron Carrickfergus. Not a complete day out but combine it with the castle and other local attractions.

“Museum, Tourist Office, Gift Shop, Cafe & Exhibitions under one roof”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

This building can be located in the centre of town, next door to the DeCourcy shopping centre, and well worth a visit. It's a modern, bright building, and has a nice relaxed atmosphere, with helpful staff. On my visit, I got info from the tourist office, did a tour of the museum, got a few small souvenirs in the gift shop, had a coffee, and seen a couple of exhibits that were on. In total, I spent about 2 hours there, and it was time well spent, and it's free. My only complaint is, that it's closed on Sunday's.

“Lots to see”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

The museum hidden off through the gift shop, and is really quite large, and has so many real items of interest. It is free to get in. There are canons in the entryway, a while suit of armour, big handwritten parchments, a whole red fire engine, and so many precious little things. I liked the carved smoking pipes, and the stone age pieces. The restaurant outside is very good, there are toilets off the corridor to the side entrance.

“small but OK”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

No charge to get in and a very nice café. Museum itself is very small so is not worth a special trip but you could tie it in with the Castle and the Gas Museum to make a day out
