This is a wonderful church - dating back to 11th century! It has been restored to show the various styles that have been used during its lifetime!
A must for anyone interested in christianity or history of buildings!
Well worth a visit!

When visiting Carrickfergus you must come to St.Nicholas and pause for a moment to soak up the atmosphere, thinking of the generations of people who have worshiped here.
Built by the Normans in about 1280 it is a bit like "George Washingtons"Axe.(Same, but many new shafts and heads).
This Church has been altered over the years since first being built, mostly in Elizabethan
times. It has seen Cromwell's troopers and more besides, and I must admit to being biased as I am a parishioner.
If you visit on a Sunday come and share our services.
