This is a great place to take the family, the park here is amazing for all ages. The clock now has a cafe in it and toilet facilities. Their are picnic benches with BBQ stands for the occasional sunny days. Pity about the dogs running loose of lead on the grass! Makes it hard to play football!!

On Friday the 13th of February 2015 I was here, and the clock was telling the right time. It was not just coincidentally stopped at the right time for when I was there, either, it was keeping time. Maybe they saw the review below and rushed to fix it?

I'm delighted at the north end of Marine Gardens to see the return of the Carrickfergus Knights. They're a spectacular trio of statues. We stopped off at the nearby Maud's Ice Cream place for refreshments. There are many very interesting cafes and restaurants here, including the courtyard with Parlour Yarns and the studio / gallery of popular artist Tom Stevenson. He does really good landscapes, and paints very famous cartoon sheep as Thomas Joseph. Call in - he's quite chatty.

At the south end of Marine Gardens the market day was on. The McMaster's butchers' lorry was doing a roaring trade.

There is a big clock tower, but it is always stopped. Why don't they get a watch maker to fix it, it's been bad for 20 years! The play ground is very good, they added all these pirate ship climbing frames for the kids. In summer it is always filled with children. There is a new tank from World War 2 near the road. At the other end is the Carrickfergus Knights, and they are very good. I want to find out which artist made them.

They have added a big green world war 2 tank at one end of the marine gardens, and those very good knights statues all the way at the other end. They were outside the Knight Ride years ago, it is good to see them again. All the new pirate ship climbing frames are good for younger children, while the park areas are great for giving the dog a run.
