Ashore terrace is an well presented large house which has been tastefully decorated throughout. It has everything you need for a base when touring around Ulster.

“Excellent large home from home with sea views”
Reviewed 22 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Stayed here on a family break to visit family. Ashore terrace has 3 double bedrooms with lots of space for everyone. We even had a sofa each. Views from living room of Belfast lough and coast. Well equipped and cosy. Near amenities and good pub a few doors away. Not far to Belfast city and local attractions. Train station a few minutes walk for train to Belfast (easier than parking) lovely walks around carrickfergus and of course the castle. Everything you need for your stay. Lovely clean home with fresh bedding. Would definitely recommend and return for future visits.

“Althought the weather was cooler, windy and rainy, the hostess of Ashore was the most warm ane welcoming, awesome stay.”
Reviewed 22 March 2018 for a stay in March 2018

The accommodations were spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. All basic essentials provided. Location in Carrickfergus perfect - view of the Lough and the Castle and walking distance from pubs and shops. Also great spot to tour Northern Ireland from. Most amazing in Carrickfergus are the people, warm, welcoming and eager to tell the history as they know it. Ownies pub had the best seafood chowder, the Dobbins Inn had the best fish and chips. Will put this place on my bucket list for a return visit.

“A great place to stay”
Reviewed 25 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We were greeted by Maxine at Ashore Terrace and she made us feel really welcome. The house is well equipped and Maxine even brought in two dressing gowns for my elderly parents which was a lovely gesture. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a high attention to detail. The lounge with its views across Belfast Loch is such a lovely relaxing and comfortable room. The house is in a very good location on the seafront in Carrickfergus. There are plenty of local shops and cafes as well as a supermarket all within easy reach. If you are wanting to get out and about there are link roads to Belfast and beyond as well as the Antrim Coastal Route through Larne.
The only reason that I am not giving Ashore Terrace five stars is that the second bathroom is only a toilet with cold water sink. That was not a problem in itself but with six of us in the house that second bathroom would of been useful.

Thank you Erica for you lovely review and glad you all enjoyed your stay. I am very sorry that you felt the lack of a second bathroom deducted a star, but that extra toilet is not offered as a bathroom, but as only as an extra toilet as the main bathroom in on the second floor so handy if needed and I offer sand sanitizer and hand wash as its a cold water feed. To make up for this it is reflected in the rate as my rate works out at approx 16 pounds per person per night based on 6 persons (less again if taken for 7 nights or more) which is excellent value for money and the comforts making it like home and welcome pack etc exceeds. The lack of second bathroom is unfortunately beyond my control as Ashore Terrace is a large victorian house with many original features and hope the bathroom issue will not prevent a return visit. Take care :)

“Great Accommodation”
Reviewed 15 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We stayed as a group of 2 couples for 4 nights. Maxine met us on arrival and was very friendly and welcoming, we were able to get into the accommodation earlier than stated. The house is amazing, lovely large period rooms, beautifully decorated but so comfortable and homely. Everything you need is provided. The location is great with easy access to rail and bus links. Plenty of pub as and restaurants as well as shops supermarkets etc. We had a great time, Carrickfergus and the surrounding area is stunning and we will definitely go back to the same accommodation. Maxine us lovely and very helpful, and I can certainly recommend her accommodation. We had friends who were staying in one of her other properties which was smaller but also lovely and also done to a very high standard.

The house is wonderful and highly recommended.
Location easily reached from both airports, Belfast not far as are the roads to all places of interest.
Maxine was very accommodating from start to finish and this meant we had faith immediately.
