“Wonderful few days.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

Just spent a few days here and had a wonderful time,it was so relaxing.
The hotel is in such a awesome location.it just took my breath away!
The staff and atmosphere in this hotel is so welcoming, home from home.
After a day out on the Antrim Coast, it's a lovely haven to return to.
I had cod from the dinner menu, and I would recommend it.
Also lovely mix of guests from all over the world.

Will be back

Having been a regular visitor to this hotel for several years,i must comment on the renovations since the National Trust took it over. The hotel is indeed lovely inside, parking is good, the centre is lovely, but I feel the entire atmosphere has gone.we no longer have old world charm, most of the previous staff seem to have gone,do we need a podium outside the bar where you are immediately asked if you are dining if you just want to call in for a casual drink.I am sure it will all appeal to the international travellers who will certainly visit, but I feel locals and casual NI visitors may not feel as comfortable as they might once have.Pity.Being a NT member myself I wish it all the best however.

Stayed at the Causeway Hotel last weekend on a Living Social Deal. It was fantastic!! The rooms were lovely, beautiful bathrooms and the staff are more than welcoming. We had beautiful views over the coast and the weather was fantastic. I was a bit worried about our room being at the top of the stairs but there was no noise at all from passing guests. The food was gorgeous, our service was mainly excellent, with just a bit of a slow period at breakfast on the second morning. It was understandable though, as it was Easter weekend and packed. I felt sorry for the staff, as there were only 3 of them to run the whole function from taking orders, replenishing the rapidly depleted buffet and serving. They really could have used another 2 staff but they coped remarkably well! The staff in general are a very hard working bunch but special praise goes to Jamie Lee, who had only been there 1 month and was fantastic. He was very friendly and better than any tour guide I ever met, ask him anything about the local area and he will know it! Other brilliant staff were Ema, Orrin and not to mention the Duty Manager Lee. If Carlsberg made staff these would be the best!

Room big, welcome at reception very pleasant and bar reception also good but god help you when you enter for breakfast. We had 3 breakfasts and the welcome was awful, why are you hear? dont sit there, thats not your table! and we werent expecting you (even though we were booked in) someone (god knows who !!! has cancelled your breakfast ????) andwhen you got it the breakfast was rubber. First breakfast was smoked salmon and scrammbled egges - salmon was tasteless, eggs were like rubber. 2nd breakfast was full irish - whole thing was like rubber and cold, 3rd was poached eggs on toast, eventually came out just eggs on a plate if you want toast get it yourself .... shame really as the rooms were nice, though dont expect any room service. Mind you restaurant service wasn't great so why would you think you might get room service !

Stayed at this Hotel as a Birthday treat last weekend. The room was big and comfy with a patio outside. Excellent value with Living Social. Good choice for breakfast. Staff were very helpful and polite. Recommend a weekend break at this Hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a patio

We stayed here on a midweek break and it was excellent. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, all were local. Dining area and bar all tastefully decorated in keeping with the period. Rooms were clean and large, maybe a look at the mattress could do with updating. Literature in room would have been helpful with times of breakfast etc. and maybe a little history of hotel perhaps even an National Trust application form.
I did'nt see a lift only a chair lift so if you have any problems with stairs I would suggest you mention to reception on booking.
