Description: The French Rooms is situated in the heart of the Bushmills, home to the world's oldest licensed distillery and the Gateway to the Giant's Causeway - a World Heritage site. Our vision is for a warm, welcoming and informal setting, a place to meet up with friends, drop in for a morning cup of coffee with a 'treat', browse through our shop or savour the flavours of our elegantly prepared dishes. There's lots to explore, firstly the shop with its eclectic range of French inspired gifts then the Cafe with its 'snugs' and zinc topped tables and bar counter. The "Moulin Rouge" is ideal for a semi private party of up to 10 persons or try the Garden Room which leads to the garden terrace which, in good weather, is a sun trap. On colder days the Garden Room fire is the perfect spot for relaxing with a newspaper and a snack.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend and we called for morning coffee. This place is a joy. Much more spacious that it looks from the street the owners have certainly put much thought into the cafe. I am sorry we were only able to visit mid morning as we would have loved to have tried a meal rather than only a mid morning snack. If I say I had coffee and a scone really there is not much more to write but just visit The French Rooms and see for yourself just lovely an experience it can be.

Small, but didn't feel at crowded. Really well designed, with a warm feel to it. Nice mix of tables, spacing and interesting layout. Not an extensive menu, but what we had was really delicious. All the staff got it just right. Knowledgeable, polite, attentive. Go now!

We stumbled across this restaurant at the back of a shop that we were looking around. Wow! I'm so glad we did. Staff here genuinely look happy to be of service, the food was fantastic with time spent on presentation. Prices are reasonable. Time has clearly been spent on the extra touches to make this place special. Highly recommended!

Found this little gem of a restaurant almost by accident while staying in Bushmills for the weekend.
We had dinner there last night after being recommended by hotel and it was so good we returned today for lunch!
Food was delicious, staff lovely and they have got the styling and atmosphere of the place just right. Would def recommend if your up this neck of the woods.

Went recently with some friends whilst on a weekend break, as a change from our usual treat at the Distillers Arms...
I suppose my overall feeling was that is was " all fur coat and no undergarments ! "
Very friendly staff, reasonably good service, pleasant surroundings, but as the food was the reason for our visit, we were disappointed with the standard of food on offer.
Although presented well(fur coat) my chicken dijonnaise for the main course was really a misleading name for a small breast of dry chicken on a piece of slate with a little sauce in a fancy pot on the side. The potato gratin though was wonderful, but it must have been a very small potato.
The starters saving grace was an a fig sauce that accompanied the liver pâté , and though the goats cheese parcel was pleasant, all portions were very small.
I am not a lover of huge platefuls of food, but I would imagine male guests would be left hungry.
The wine list although not extensive was good and the cocktails on offer were lovely.
I may give it another chance, but more variety needed. Owners need to realise that the public can see through "trendy names" and expect much better quality when handing over their hard earned cash. The Distillers Arms need not worry unduly.
