We have stayed at The Smugglers Inn three times so far. Love the owners' wonderful friendly welcome, we are starting to feel part of the family now! It is spotlessly clean, the food is excellent' and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful and the staff were always cheery in the morning..The view from our room was spectacular, we sat watching the rolling Atlantic waves crashing onto the beach.. The Inn itself is fascinating to walk round, with lots of nautical items on the walls to look at and read.. We will never stay anywhere else when we are in Northern Ireland.

Nice food a bit pricey ! Starters especially ? Staff were a bit somber in restaraunt although barmaid with wavey hair sorry didnt catch her name was very bubbly maybe she should pass her personality to them but all in all quite nice

Four of us stayed at Smugglers Inn Sat 15th march, on arrival were met by young lady behind reception, showed us were the rooms were, found the bedroom really clean, bathroom spotless, tea, coffee, bickys, in room spot on. had a few pints in the lounge, enjoyed the view over the atlantic. headed into bushmills for a few beers, local taxi £3. Came back for meal, which was cooked to order, worth the money. Breakfast next morning was 100% couldnt got better in a dear hotel, cooked as required. real value for money.. Would stay again if prices were a little bit less., or discount for room. (we stayed there using Sun Vouchers) found the staff to be polite, helpful, and neatly turned out. give it a turn we enjoyed it. There was entertainment on in the bar on Sat night, which we missed.

Stayed here last weekend. Room was spotlessly clean, staff lovely. We booked 2 nights b&b inc one evening meal, I thought we would b limited to a certain menu but were given £18.50 each to spend on menu, this gave us loads of choice and the food was lovely, in fact we ate there the second night as well. Great choice for lovely cooked breakfast.

Room Tip: We walked into bushmills but even though only short walk I would recommend getting a taxi as road bu...

We stayed here as our original booking elsewhere was cancelled at very short notice and we decided that it was a very happy accident that we ended up here. Bedroom was large lovely and quiet with skylight views over the amazing coastline. The service from both the management and staff was helpful and friendly and they went above expectations. We will definitely be staying here again when we return to Northern Ireland

Not impressed at all, I can only echo what other people have been saying, There seemed to be a senior member of staff who was English, that could do with a personality transplant, as I found she adapted an attitude when I asked to see the rooms before I booked.
The food at breakfast reminded me of something I was served up while I was a guest of the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast some years ago, and as for a good nights sleep, there wasn't a chance of that either as I think they got the mattresses that Crumlin Road Jail threw out when it closed years ago.

All in all it was a very disappointing experience, and my only advice is to skip the Smugglers and book the Bayview Hotel instead it really isn't that much more expensive.

Room Tip: Try the Bayview Hotel Portballintrae

This is still a great place. Got a sea view room this time and it was worth it. Rooms are spotless as is the ensuite. Food was lovely. It was quiet but nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they even let us check in earlier than the normal check in time. Would return here again.
