“Not greatly impressed...”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Didn't have a great experience here. The lack of wifi in the rooms was a real let-down, particularly in an area with no mobile internet signal. If I'm travelling around, the first thing I do after touching down somewhere and flopping down on my bed is check out opening times of attractions, find a restaurant etc, not to mention catch up on emails and so on (maybe as I'm drying off after a shower, which obviously doesn't mix with going to a public area ...). Can't be the only one, as the reception/dining room was crowded with people trying to get some internet. I really don't think its acceptable, basically, in 2014 not to offer room-based wi-fi!

Breakfast was only offered up until 8:30, which is sub-par in my experience - most places I stayed in NI at least offered it until 9:00, or later. You know, some of the guests might be on holiday!

The room itself was awful - boxy - barely possible to get round the bed, with spartan and unattractive furnishings. A real contrast to the public areas of the house which were light. very modern and reasonably well appointed. View out the window was dismal (sides of some mobile homes). Really one of the grimmest rooms, I've stayed in. Oh, and the television didn't work - the gaffer-taped on set-top-box kept freezing after a few minutes of being turned on. So basically, with the lack of wifi, literally nothing to look forward to upon coming back to room.

The location is not even that great being a good 15-20 minutes walk outside Bushmills.

I turned up on a bicycle, and in contrast to the kind, solicitous and helpful attitude to most B&B owners (who usually straightway offer to put it in a shed or in the back garden overnight), I was just told that there wasn't really anywhere to put it except in the front drive but that there wasn't a problem with crime in the area, which was a bit lame.

I'd much prefer the more standard dated, tatty-but-functional & friendly B&B fare to this. The price being charged for what I got I thought was a bit of a rip-off really. Only saving grace was that I was only here one night.

My daughter and I spent 4 nights here last week. It is just outside Bushmills and so is in a perfect location for the distillery and only about 2 miles from the Giant's causeway. We got the impression that the owners were quite new to it but everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast was fine (not quite the spectacular Ulster fry I had hoped for) but none the less it was a good selection of cereals and a cooked option which we took every day.
It was a bit frustrating that there was no wifi in the rooms and that our tv didn't have a reception for bbc1 or 2 but we did spend most of our time out anyway.
The causeway was amazing to see and I would also recommend a visit to Portrush for some lovely food at 55 North and at the Harbour Bar.

Seeing the unattractive exterior of this property i was surprised to find inside a most beautiful and modern b&b. My room was the quality of an expensive hotel and everything was immacuately presented and the bathroom was very good size too. I got the impression the b&b was very new, not just because there were no reviews on TripAdvisor yet, so a couple of suggestions to improve the experience; firstly the communal tea making facilities were ok but it failed in there being no where to fill up the kettle when it was empty .. overcame this by using the cup to convey in water from the bathroom but this day it was busy and soon the milk cartons were all gone! Secondly the breakfast leaved a bit to be desired compared to standard fare ... maybe just some beans would be a good idea to make the plate look a little less empty! Also its a bit unusual to have to make your own tea for breakfast! Thirdly, a 30 pound wifi signal booster would have made wifi accessible in the bedrooms instead of just the breakfast room where it was still a bit on off most the time. But overall a very enjoyable stay and would be glad to recommend!
