My family and I have just returned from a whistle stop tour of Northern Ireland doing the Northern Ireland Tourist Board's Seven Day Tour in three. We flew with Easyjet from Liverpool for the amazing price of £97 for us all and opted to stay at Youth Hostels in Bushmills and Enniskilen.
I have never stayed in a Youth Hostel before and had an idea that youth hostelling involved having to get up early to wash the floor or some other chore but it ws not like that though we did have to make our own beds with linen provided.
The family room we had at a cost of 40 pounds for one night had two single beds and two upstairs and the room had a sink shower and wc. There was no television.
Being a youth hostel there were amplecooking and dining facilities and a lounge with tv and board games.
Overall I would rate the youth hostels we stayed at somewhere under a travel lodge but for the money it was clean wam and ample for our needs but all things considered I will stick with hotelsin future.
As for the location it is brilliant for the causeway where the is an excellant pub called the Nook which served excellant evening meals. You could have two evening meals for twelve pounds I had an excellant duck and my wife had stak in Guinness pie whilst the children had enchilladas andahamburger all served with fresh vegetables.
