Hilton Belfast Templepatrick Golf & Country Club

My partner and I stayed at the Hilton last weekend and it was lovely. We'd stayed there before and only once has our night been poor due to a rude reception, however not this time. We opted for the 2 nights, 2 meals, and 2 breakfasts for £220 and it was well worth the money. We received a deluxe room [333] with brilliant golf views, free of charge as we ddi not pay the extra for a deluxe, and the bed was massive!! Room was as expected very clean, the gym and spa area was a great touch....bit over crowded with children at times and the pool a bit chilly but everything else was perfect. Hotel restaurant and bar staff where what made us happy. They where extremely kind and easy to talk to, and the food was out of this world. Strongly reccommend the Corn-Fed Chicken and the Orange and Chocolate Torte, or Baileys Cheesecake. The small sports bar and restuarant [cant remember the name] that was in the golfing end of the hotel was lovely. Prices where abit OTT [soup and sand £7.50] but nothing we couldnt live with.
We will definitely be back, such a relaxing area and hotel just to get away from the city.

Room Tip: Friday special deal-£220 2 nights b&b, plus 2 3course meals!

Being an optimist, lets talk about the good bits first of all.
1. Great size room with lovely bathroom.
2. Excellent modern decor.
3. MP3 radio/alarm, flatscreen TV and plentiful teas/coffees available.
4. Plenty of room for a baby's cot which was asked for and provided, thankyou.

Now the bad: as HawkseyWimbledon has mentioned below, the beds were atrocious. I could feel the springs under the sheets. Also, and this is a real bugbear of mine in hotels, a double bed IS NOT TWO SINGLES PUSHED TOGETHER!!!
When I book a double room, I expect a double bed.
Also the food prices were laughable. My partner and I had thought about eating in the restaurant until we saw the price list. Instead, we went into Templepatrick and had a decent meal at a decent price. Until the prices are lowered, you will continue to drive your guests into other restaurants.
Again, like HawkseyWimbledon, a response from the management would be appreciated.
Regards.

Just returned from our stay for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary!
Off to a great start on arrival when we were greeted with an anniversary card :)
Fantasic well maintained room with balcony overlooking the golf course made this the right location for our special occasion!
Pool was fantastic to relax before dinner, dinner was excellent with very attentive staff ensuring we had all we needed, food was great!
Breakfast was as expected for a Hilton Breakfast - Excellent !
All in all a great hotel, friendly helpful staff and a excellent relaxed location! Will def be back and would fully recommend!!

This hotel was really nice and relaxing, in the middle of the country away from noise, however easy to get to nearby towns. Staff were really friendly and of great help in giving directions to places. Breakfast was excellent, everything you could possibly want. Rooms were spacious and we got bottle of wine complimentary which we didn't expect, nice touch! Would definitely stay here again if we wanted to get away from it all.

£150 a night is a jokej a Premier Travel inn with a Beefeater is much better value. On check-in, I was told authoriively that I wasn't on the conference list and would have to pay for the room myself but later a trainee staff member sorted this out when I brought the conference organiser to reception.
I took 2 filthy saucers and 1 tea spoon to reception; apparently the point was lost on the receptionist when I was just asked if I would like clean ones.
The public toilets (checked regularly) had no soap in the dispeners at 9pm; the last inspection was 12.30pm.
Restaurant prices are on par with the room rate; expensive but poor value. I am still here and can't wait to see what could be worth £15 at breakfast tomorrow.
The bar staff are very attentive but this is the only redeeming feature of this vastly overpriced hotel.

Having stayed in this hotel previously we have as a family got know it well and the facilities are always kept up to date and in good condition. The rooms are clean as is the general hotel areas and the staff who are mostly local from the area, are very helpful and friendly.

The swimming pool and fitness suite is is very modern and kept impeccably clean, the tennis courts and putting green are also free to all guests and the staff will loan equipment to those who have forgotten to bring theirs. A great hotel and great experience of genuine Northern Ireland hospitality.

Nice place in a great location. It caters largely for the golfing crowd-great golf course. Hotel itself is a bit spartan with lots of long corridors. Our room contained a bottle of water at £3.95- not very welcoming. Hotel seems popular with young families

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room-lots of noisy kids about!
