“Delightful, charming Irish eatery”
Reviewed 14 November 2013 via mobile

This place is a little gem in Cushendall!
It was well kept, clean, the biergarten outside looked welcoming but the weather didn't allow! The service was excellent, a very nice lady. We had the deal "3 small plates for £11.95" which was good value and very tasty; crab in a pot, chowder and moules marinieres. The kids meal was excellent and they also provided books and crayons.
The restaurant looked very inviting, the radiators were very hot and candles were lit, we sat by the window which appeared to be single glazed and a draught was felt, but that's something which can easily be rectified.
Will definitely be back '

“Not as good as downstairs at Harry's!!”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

Some people might consider it slightly unfair to judge a restaurant on the basis of a quick snack lunch but I am sure that experience can be a useful pointer trowards what to expect from a more ambitious meal?
The room itself is very pleasant and welcoming and so was the young waiter who greeted us. But things started badly when they were unable to provide a half pint of Guiness - or even the ubiquitous Irish beverage in a bottle - and we had to make do with Mexican beer. This despite trhe fact that there was a sizeable Guiness poster beside the entrance!
My companion's lentil and smoked bacon soup was over-salty and the fact that the helping was pretty miserly was perhaps a blessing in disguise. I had a tomato and mozarella bruschetta served on the most flaccid and un-Italian piece of cheap bread you could possibly imagine - and I suspect the tomatoes came out of a tin.
Not a rewarding experience and my advice, if you wish to dine in Cushendall, would be to go across the road to Harry's which has always managed to please us.

“Good service”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

The food was OK but nothing to write home about. Service was very good with lovely staff. Thought it a bit overpriced. The pub below, Johnny Joe's is terrific. Visit there before or after your meal upstairs.
