The room we had was clean and acceptable. But, the food we had at the bar was awful, certainly someone here needs a lesson in cooking, or better still could do with a visit from that swearing TV chef. Eating there was a time warp.
What was horrible was the staff smoking at the door every day!

We booked two nights at this hotel at the end of July as part of a short break to Northern Ireland. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was OK, but the room was absoultely dire, and nowhere near the standard we would expect for the rate charged. In general it was very dated and in urgent need of decorating, with wallpaper peeling off walls and holes and cracks in the ceiling. Furniture and fitments were dated and falling apart, with doors almost coming off hinges when opened and lamps in a dodgy state. It was a similar tale in the bathroom, where the only reasonably modern aspect was a fairly new shower. The rest of the hotel was also dated and in dire need of updating, particularly on corridors and stairwells. We have stayed in around 20 hotels over the past 18 months and this was by a long way the worst. No fault of the staff we encountered on our visit, who were typical of the friendly and welcoming people of the area, but nevertheless a major let-down on what was otherwise an enjoyable visit to a stunningly beautiful and fascinating part of the world

Room Tip: Wait until they've had a major refurbishment

We stayed at the port hotel for two nights with our two daughters aged 7 and 2 and the staff were great we stayed in room 5 and room 8. Room 8 was great and the girls loved having their own room. Room 5 was fine but the lights from the sign were quite bright and there was a lot of noise from the room above. The breakfast was great they had something to suit everyone. Over all it was a fab two days and would def go back.
