“Wonderful hotel - great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2009

I was staying in Ramada Portrush while at a wedding in the town and I got a much better rate than was offered at the wedding hotel.

The hotel is brilliant with the welcome from the staff amazing from start to finish. Our room was great with a beautiful view over the coast and ocean.

Breakfast in the morning was fantastic with amazing pancakes! The service from each member of staff was second to none and they couldn't have been more friendly.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying around the north coast!

I stayed at the Ramada in Portrush on a weekend break with my partner and I have no complaints what so ever. The hotel is perfectly located for the beach and the centre of Portrush. Reading a review below regarding parking..The hotel is of such a good quality that parking is not even an issue..although there is only a small car park, there is ample parking in the surrounding area. The hotel restaurant food was amazing (We had breakfast and Dinner at the hotel). Breakfast was good and there was plenty for everyone. Dinner, the menu was extensive and had something for everyone. Not to mention very reasonably priced (Steak with sides for £10.95). Cant have any complaints about my stay or this hotel.

P.S - I read in a review below about flags...These flags are traditional during the marching season in Northern Ireland although I must say that I was also there during this time and I did not see any flags in the surrounding area of the hotel.

I stayed with my wife at the hotel during August 09, from the very friendly reception staff ( Karen and Laura) to the large and very clean bedroom with great sea views to the excellent food in the hotel restaurant, we could find no fault. We look forward to staying at the Ramada Portrush again in the near future.

I stayed in the Ramada for a weekend in August and I found some of the staff to be very rude especaily the night porter. There is inadequate parking (15 spaces) and the sea view is obstructed by one of a large number of pro-british and paramilitary flags etc leaving it with a none too pleasasnt atmosphere (hardly condusive to a relaxing romantic break). The restaurant was particularly bad with service almost non -existent as staff just huddled around in small groups chatting amongst themselves as the diners tried to get their attention. The food itself was of very poor quality. I would ask people to avoid this hotel at all costs.

My wife and I stayed in the Portrush Ramada for 2 nights b&b in mid-August. Throughout our stay the staff were just brilliant - very friendly and helpful, without exception. We were given a large, spotlessly clean room with sea view (we hadn't asked for one) and the breakfasts (all you can eat hot and cold buffet) were 1st rate. If not eating in the hotel retaurant at night (which is very popular), would recommend the Ramore Wine Bar (less than 5 minutes walk away at the harbour) where the food is fantastic and reasonably priced.

The hotel is clean and modern. Our bedroom was spotless with a beautiful view of the coast. The room was massive. Only spent one night here but wish it had been more. The breakfast was lovely couldnt fault it at all. Will definitely try to get back.

We stayed here with extended family taking three rooms. We all had similar rooms with two double beds each. Staying with children in the room is always pot-luck with hotel rooms, but on this occasion we were really pleased. There is lots of space, a huge room in fact, and the bathroom is big too with a strong shower. All areas in the hotel were very clean. We had a wonderful dinner, where the menu catered brilliantly for the three generations of us. Actually, the children's menu was as good as we've ever seen, not the usual chips/sausage etc. Breakfast was a great selection from a self-service buffet..fruit, muffins, potato bread, yogurt, cereal, juice, cooked meat, cold meat, and the usual bacon, sausage, egg etc and lots more. The staff were incredibly attentive from start to finish, the best I've seen in a long time. We could only manage a one night stay, but reckon we will return for longer.
