“Great hotel - can't wait to go back!”
Reviewed 23 September 2012

Many of our family and friends have just spent most of the weekend at the Magherabuoy Hotel to celebrate our daughter's wedding ceremony and reception. The whole experience from beginning to end was excellent and the Causeway Suite was a superb venue for a wedding reception. The staff were all very helpful, attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. The hotel rooms were comfortable, bright, modern and spotlessly clean. I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel for a wedding or similar function as everything was handled very professionally by Bridget our Wedding Co-ordinator. We just loved the Magherabuoy and can't wait for an opportunity to stay again in the near future. Thanks to everyone involved for helping to make my daughter and son-in-law's wedding a truly memorable experience.

Dear Laneyvic,

It's so nice to hear your glowing feedback. I am delighted you and your family enjoyed your daughter and son-in-law's wedding reception at Magherabuoy so much, and that you take away many good memories from such an important day.

Bridget, whom you mention, is meticulous in her attention to planning and in looking after Hotel weddings, whilst Head Chef Paul is equally committed to ensuring only food of the highest standard leaves his kitchen. I wil pass on your kind compliments to them and their teams.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family back for futhure visits and wish the happy couple well in future. Thank you again for your lovely review.

Regards,

Trevor

Stayed in the Magherabuoy Hotel with my parents and we loved it. The location is lovely, the decor is fresh and clean. The bedrooms are large and bright. Every staff member we came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. We dined in the restaurant the night we arrived and the food was yummy! It was homely and the deal for main and dessert with a drink for £12 was excellant. The next morning we had the breakfast which was lovely! Would recommended this hotel to friends and family and we would love to go back again. Thanks to Magherabuoy for making our stay a pleasure.

Dear Niamh P,

Delighted you loved your stay at Magherabuoy, Niamh!
We very recently upgraded our bedding and linens, and I agree, the change really does make our guest bedrooms feel nice and fresh. The £12 bistro meal deal you mention is great value, we love it because our customers are impressed by it.
I agree with you about our staff - they really are a great team, making our guests feel welcome, relaxed and well looked after.
Hope we can welcome you back sometime soon, thank you for the lovely review.

Regards,

Trevor

The rooms were very nice (but I expected that as it's not the cheapest place to stay in Portrush), and the whole place had a very quaint feeling to it. There was a complimentary breakfast that was very good, bacon and eggs and the works. The bakery that's connected to the hotel is amazing. My only wish would be to have it located a little closer to downtown, we weren't walking but my guess would be about a 30 min walk. Highlight of our stay was the pillows, absolutely incredible!!!

Dear Yellowknife,
Thank you for your review of your stay at Magherabuoy, I'm glad you found our Hotel to be exactly what you were looking for.
Leona's Tea Room & Bakery is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike, offering a mouth-watering range of traditional local products - all of which are home baked by our team. Don't know of any other Hotels in Northern Ireland that offer anything similar!
Thank you again for visiting,

Regards,

Trevor

Recommended by friends this really was a fantastic experience. I spend a lot of my life in hotels for business around the world and have to say the homely feel with quality rooms and good food was sufficiently diferent to make it a holiday! The staff are exceptionally freindly without seeming out of place. Breakfast always high quality, resturant meals tasty and substantial. Rooms not just well laid out and large but really clean. As others have said it looks great from the outside and does not disappoint when you go inside. Recommended for that different feel you want on a holiday or for that business trip where you want to feel special! Our first trip to this coast line, and formed an excellent place for ventures out, but also a loevly area for a short trip out in the evening.

Beautiful hotel in an idyllic setting on the outskirts of Portrush. My bedroom had everything you could want and more.......spacious and clean with panoramic views over Portrush. The bathroom was pristine clean and the power shower was exactly that, powerful, the perfect wake up call. Ate in the bistro on both nights of my stay and the food was fabulous, their home made chips are just to die for. Breakfast was plentiful and there was great variety. All the staff I encountered during my stay could not have done enough, they were friendly and ever so helpful. I didn't avail of any other service but next time I hope to indulge in a little pampering and visit Leona's tea shop. i would highly recommend this hotel. NB the hotel is located approximately one mile from Portrush town centre, for the non-drivers there is a bus stop a few minutes from the hotel, the bus runs every half hour. Thank you MHH for a most enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a 2nd floor room with a view.

We originally planned to stay in B&B for our stay in Ireland, but when we arrive in Portrush, everything was either full or they didn't answer...

We look to what was around and found this place.
What a nice surprise!!

First of all, when we arrive the look of the hotel is amazing. Parking is not a problem.

We decide to have a family room, so we could all have beds. Room was really spacious and clean. The bathroom was also nice, as you expect in Best Western.

We decide to eat dinner at the restaurant, seeing the time it was. Food was good. A bit pricey, but it's always the case when you eat at hotel's restaurants.

The girl at the front desk was really helpful as she help us reserve a night on our way back to Dublin. She call differents places and reserve for us.

If going back to this area, I'll definitely come back there.

Dear Julie L,
Thank you for the lovely review, I’m really glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Our abundant on-site parking is convenient for our guests as they don’t have to worry about finding somewhere safe to leave their car overnight. We have some great family rooms, which can sleep up to five people in two double beds and one single bed. Our Family rooms also have plenty of space for a cot (which we can provide) for those travelling with an infant.
I’m glad our receptionist was able to help you out with your stay in Dublin, we have contacts in other Hotels across the country and it is always our pleasure to be able to help a guest with their onward journey.
I see that you stayed with us in September 2011 when we were a Best Western member. We left the brand earlier this year, but you’ll be pleased to know we continue to offer the same great rooms, service and food that we did when you last stayed – and hopefully you will be able to return to the lovely North Coast sometime in the future. If you do, you can try out our new great value menu which includes a main course, dessert and a drink for just £12 - enough to travel all the way from Canada to sample!
Regards,
Trevor
