We (4 golfers) just stayed at Adelphi and it met all our expectations. Great location with close proximity to great golf courses like Royal Portrush, Portstewart, Castlerock and others. The rooms are very clean (appear to be recently remodelled) and the bathrooms have a much needed bathtub, which is great for a sore back after hours of golf. Adelphin also offers a spa (massages) with a Jaccuzi and a Sauna.
We ate our dinners at other restaurants in town. The only major complaint was the breakfast which could easily be improved upon. Dry cereal and a bowl of canned fruit was displayed on at table, but it took a while for the porridge or egg dishes to be prepared. However, once served, the food tasted great and the waitress was as nice as she could be!....Swede.

Stayed at the Adelphi easter Tuesday and the Wednesday for the first time in 3 years and had the overall feeling that the place has went downhill a little bit..Room was fine with a good view of the sea, however a couple of problems with dinner later on...Very good value for a 2 or 3 course meal and kids menu looked good as well until we asked for a portion of garlic bread for the kids to share as a starter before the main course...The waitress struggled to understand this as it wasn't on the kids menu and said she didn't know how to put it through on the till?? Anyway out it comes with my wife and i starters, one small piece of garlic bread on a couple of leaves between the two kids,it was literally a bite each!! Mains were nice and plentiful however when my wife was asked how everything was by the head waitress she said it was fine bar the size of the kids garlic bread...After this our plates lay on the table for half an hour while other tables were served and cleared, finally we asked for the bill with still our plates not lifted and found 3 pounds charged for the 1 small slice of garlic bread,i know its not a lot of money, but the restaurant wasn't that busy and its wee things like this that may make families go elsewhere...Breakfast the both mornings was the usual deep fried everything fry ups to the okay continental selection...Location is great for Portrush and the surrounding area, however i do think standards have slipped since my last visit..

Enjoyed a cosy weekend in the Adelphi recently. Large well equipped room, small, relaxing jacuzzi and sauna area and good location for walks and looking around the town. Food was good quality and good value for money. Had a delicious evening meal in the restaurant with nice wine and good sized portions of food.
Breakfast however was more of a hurry up, eat up and get out affair.
We chose a table for breakfast as no-one was there to show us to any particular one, for which we got dirty looks from the lady who appeared to be the restaurant manageress. The fresh fruit consisted of a large basket of whole apples, oranges, etc. with nothing sharp to cut them up with. I always have fresh fruit with yoghurt for breakfast and have never been to a hotel where the fruit needs to be peeled and cut up before eating.
As we sat down to chop up our apples and oranges etc. a lady came to ask which cooked breakfast option we wanted, which was fine, but she did not offer a sharp knife even though she saw me struggling to cut with an ordinary table knife. I should have asked but was already feeling slightly uncomfortable. Just as we began to eat our fruit and yoghurt a girl appeared at our table with our cooked breakfasts and after checking that she had brought what we had ordered she commenced moving everything about on our tiny table and shoved the plates into a space where there obviously wasnt space. Specsavers?? We had to move what we were eating to give her room for these plates.
In hindsight I should have asked her to take the plates back to the kitchen until we were ready for them or ask her to give them to someone else, but she dumped them on the table and we had to set our fruit and yoghurt to one side so we could eat the hot food while it was hot, and had the fruit afterwards. There was no "Is everything ok for you?" style of service, more like "Here it is, eat it up and go so we can clear up". The only word I can think of to describe the restaurant staff is Sharp!
Didnt have a very relaxing start to the day but we were checking out afterwards so we went on about our business. I would stay in the Adelphi again for its location and value for money but I'd have to give the fruit a miss at breakfast as it was too much hassle and I'd voice my opinion if I felt staff were being pushy.

Stayed just before Easter 2012 and found the staff helpful and the room comfortable. OK, a seaview is down the street, but that was not a problem! The food was excellent, we ate in on two nights, having the Special Deal menu one night and the ordinary menu on the other - no need to use the a la carte menu. Wine list small but the Australian Shiraz was great.
The hotel uses on street parking and that is no problem at this time of the year but might be come July and August.
Any Gripe? Do we have to have cheap plastic marmalade/ jam sachets rather than a couple of proper pots per table at breakfast?

Nice hotel. The room was big. If you're checking in late make sure you call ahead reception closes early. This might only be in the off-season when we were traveling.
