“Best campsite in Northern Ireland”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Campsite very clean.
Loads of space in the field for our tent and for the kids to play.
Staff very friendly.
Very close to Cranfield West beach.
Great play park.
Noise curfew enforced, which is great as stays at previous sites had been ruined by people partying til dawn.
Fantastic views of the Mournes.
Toilet/shower block is handy for the campers as well as caravanners. Usually the campers have to trek halfway across a site!
Some of the tent pitches have access to electric hook up points, which we didnt use, but was again a first for us.
Will definitely be back at this site.
Well-stocked shop and cafe nearby too.

We have just returned from a super 2 weeks at Cranfield in our touring caravan. Not only was the weather glorious but the site is a great place to be. We were in the field next to the play park which allowed our grandson to go and come as freely as he pleased. This was our 3rd year of coming and we were not disappointed. The staff are friendly and helpful and the toilet/shower block is spotless no matter what time of the day. The showers are always hot and very powerful. Lots of the tourers are regular visitors which gives the place a friendly family orientated feel. The CSSM was there on our second week which is great fun for our 6yr old, he made lots of friends and had a ball. There are lots of children of all ages around and all are well behaved....come 10.30/11pm all was quiet. The shop on site is adequate for your daily essentials..bread, milk etc. Kilkeel is only 10 mins away where there is an Asda, We will be back next year for sure.

Stayed here for 2 nights with the family during June and camped in our tent on one of their large pitches. Nice site, albeit a bit sparce on trees and hedges. Showering and toilet facilities very clean but the only thing that baffles me is that you have to pay for a shower. This is included in the overnight rate on the continent and it seemed a little petty to have to pay for a shower. All in all a decent spot, and I would return.

We stayed in this park june bank holiday. It was our first time to stay here. It was spotlessly clean, whole campsite, toilets, showers. Kids loved it as they met lots of new friends. We were in the campsite with the playground one minute away from our caravan(big plus), chestnutt have another site across the road so make sure you pick the right one. Most of the other people on the site seem to stay there all summer so they all know each other so you can feel like a real outsider. Beach is 5 min walk and its blue flag. Only thing that would stop me from going back is that it needs a good shop, you have to drive to kilteel or back into Rostrevor. Yes we would go back again to this campsite and would definitely recommend it.

Staff are extremely rude, unprofessional and unhelpful in everyway! I was recently turned down from staying on the campsite with a group of friends on the morning we were due to arrive because it was the companies 'policy' not to allow groups of young people (we are all 18) to stay incase they made noise near a family. This is a classic case of tarring everyone with the one brush as older people are just as likely to make noise as younger people. The company were unable to give an exact definition of their policy towards the age of guests and became aggressive on the phone before hanging up. As we all live locally we often would spend summers out at Cranfield using the shop and restaurant facilities however I can say after this we will not be there again!

Really disappointed with how the site is managed. From being hung up on twice by the owner and being spoke to like I was a second class citizen. Not happy with their customer service. We use our caravan every weekend and spend money in the shop and cafe and that's the thanks you get. Disappointing!!!

Stayed here in September and have to say that their pitches are fantastic, all weather with all facilities at each pitch. Set up is very clean and staff friendly. Very close to beach also.

Will definately go back and have already recommended it to others.
