A freshly-decorated and clean room. Lovely country views. Only 10 minutes into Coleraine and shops and restaurants. Reasonable rates. Tasty hot breakfast. Friendly service- thanks and well done to the Kane's. (Just push the door handle right up before attempting to open or lock it.. easy). :)

Recommended.

I spent 1 night here on a short 2 day tour of the North coast which in itself was not long enough in this beautiful area. The Balinteer was lovely. I had chosen this B& B by looking at reviews on Trip Advisor & then contacted the owner via email through the Balinteers' own website - www.ballinteerbandb.co.uk.
The room was lovely, fresh & immaculate. Fresh milk to go in my coffee was waiting when I got there. I had the best night sleep I've had in a long time in the double bed - in spite of the wind & rain outside! So comfortable! I was woken up by the owner with my breakfast which was served in the room. The breakfast was huge & extremely tasty. There was no urgency to leave & I would have been tempted to creep back into bed if I hadn't had a busy day ahead!
I would highly recommend you to stay here. I will certainly go back if I'm in the area again.

I've just return from a weekend spent at the Balinteer, I would recommend this B&B as an excellent base for anyone wishing to tour the beautiful north coast of Ireland.
Very friendly and a breakfast that will set you up for the day.
Excellent location only 2.8 miles outside Coleraine.

We spent one night here, it is a lovely room with it's own entrance, bed very comfortable, room clean & tidy, all you need for a comfortable stay. The hosts are very welcoming, in the country but near Coleraine etc, would recommend a stay here. The delicious breakfast was excellent, served in the room..

Just spent bank holiday weekend in N Ireland and stayed at the Ballinteer. Overall we thought it was very very good. Our room was on the first floor and was accessed through it's own exterior door at the top of a metal fire escape-like staircase. It had comfortable beds, modern decor and both older and modern furniture. Our en-suite bathroom was small and I wouldn't recommend the shower cubicle for those of a fuller figure, although in our cases that wasn't an issue. Several books and brochures had thoughtfully been provided in the room containing information about Coleraine and the local sights and attractions.
The Ballinteer can be found down a quiet country road just off the Londonderry road from Coleraine, near the village of Macosquin. This is where the nearest pub, shop and church are. It's probably 4 or 5 miles inland from the coast, which has some fantastic scenery and beautiful deserted beaches. It's around 12 or so miles drive from the unmissable Giant's Causeway.
The owner, Lulu, was extremely friendly and provided a huge breakfast at a pre-arranged time in our room. The quality of the breakfast couldn't be questioned, although (and I hate to be critical) we found it a little dry. It was served on a platter and this included the baked beans. Possibly to stop the whole platter swimming in juice, the beans had possibly been sieved. An idea would be to serve these in a separate dish on the platter. Lulu told us we were welcome to bring drinks and take-aways back to the room and were provided with glasses, corkscrew, plates and cutlery.
Lulu and her daughters keep horses to compete in equestrian shows and they made our two year old very welcome, allowing her to help them groom and feed them in the stables.
Another possible improvement (sorry Lulu!) would have been to provide a DVD player and a selection of DVDs. Because our two year old was going to sleep at eight and the tv only showed terrestrial channels, this would have been appreciated (although I must admit we didn't ask).
Overall though we had a lovely stay and I would gladly return there if we were to visit that area again.

We stayed at this Bed and Breakfast while making our way from the west coast up to the Causeway coast. It is close to the Giant's causeway and the wonderful town of Coleraine. Great hospitality, a clean room with separate enterance and a very comfortable bed make this accomodation highly recommended.

The stay at Balinteer was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. The Bed and Breakfast is not far from the Causeway Coast attractions (about 20-30 minutes). It is set away from the city of Coleraine in a pleasant and quiet suburb but is off the main road making it easy to find. After a day of seeing the sites we checked in at the B&B. The room, which they have converted, is lovely! Very spacious and comfortable. Probably our favorite part of this B&B was the family. They were wonderful and gracious hosts making us feel right at home. We greatly enjoyed our conversation with them and their willingness to share their knowledge of the country. Last but not least the breakfast was amazing! A fantastic home cooked meal. We would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast!
