My first 3 nights on the island of Ireland were spent at Mrs Elizabeth Hegarty's warm, welcoming country home, and it became the standard by which I judged other accommodations. She has won many awards over the years, probably because she makes you feel as if you are a welcome family guest.

I selected a front double room with a view of the front garden and pastures. The room had a firm bed, wardrobe with bathrobe, pressed linens, fluffy towels, convenient dressing table with sink, and a basket of toiletries. No run of the mill in-room coffee/tea service here: in addition to standard beverage supplies, there were apples, nuts, chips, chocolates, and bottled still, sparkling and flavored waters. And they were replaced when you ate anything.

The unlimited cold buffet and excellent hot Irish breakfast kept us going for hours. Service was speedy when needed and very personal. When my sister asked for cinnamon with her oatmeal, there was none, but the next morning, poof! a new bottle just for her. The house is not walking distance to any eateries, but we found excellent food only a few miles away in Garvagh (The Vines). If you're touring the beautiful Antrim coast, this is an easy, very relaxing spot to call home. (Hi to previous reviewer Wendy!)

Room Tip: The rear rooms were larger with full baths, but the small toilet/shower cubicle in front rooms fit m...

We stayed one night and couldn't have felt more welcome. Elizabeth is a lovely lady and goes put of her way to make sure your needs are met. Great extra touches in the room and breakfast was superb. Traditional furnishings with lots of interesting decor.

I often find it difficult to distinguish between Very Good and Excellent in terms of an overall rating but a couple of things pushed me to Excellent in assessing Greenhill House B&B.

First, we were four golfers having booked two twin rooms. The night we stayed at Greenhill there was one unused room. Quite generously Elizabeth split two of us so we could each have our own room, a gesture that was very much appreciated. Second, with the NorthWest 200 on, Elizabeth provided printouts of directions to circumvent the closed roads for the race in order that we could easily get to Royal Portrush, another beyond expectations effort.

Approx. 20 minutes south of Coleraine (excellent directions were provided with confirmation of reservation) near the village of Garvagh, Greenhill House B&B is set in a very tranquil, rural location. For those looking for some peace and quiet with easy access to the coast Greenhill House is an excellent choice.

We stayed here for a couple of nights during the Northwest 200, We were welcomed in the drawing room with a nice warm cup of tea and a selection of delicious homebaked cakes & biscuits.
The atmosphere was like home from home.......very warm and friendly. the house is lovely and the bedrooms are very cosy and nicely decorated with excellent hospitality trays with a variety of drinks and nibbles.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked the same room for next year & will probably go back here year after year.......a real gem of a find!!

Nothing was too much trouble at Greenhill House. Everything was as described on their website and we were made very welcome for the whole of our stay there. There were lots of thoughtful extra touches too. The location was quiet but there was easy access to the coast, the Giant's Causeway and other attractions. There were eating places a short drive away and Mrs. Hegarty gave good, helpful recommendations as to where best to eat. All four of us in our party very much enjoyed our stay there and would certainly return if we were in the area.

Arrived at this lovely house in darkness to be greeted warmly by the proprieter who showed us to two large twin bedrooms. Both rooms had bathrooms which included baths and were fairly large in size. The rooms had full tea and coffee facilities and several snack items in case you became peckish. There was also a box containing all the items you might find you'd forgotten which was extremely thoughtful. My companions decided they were going to go out for food and Mrs Hegarty kindly phoned the local pub to find out if they were still serving food.

The next morning we had a lovely breakfast with a variety of choices. The grounds looked magnificent and it was a shame we didn't have time to explore.

We were on the way to the Giant's Causeway and Bushmills and this would be an ideal spot to stay if you were exploring the area. The property was only a few miles from Coleraine.
It have recieved AA 5 star approval.
