The Lodge Hotel has a professional and friendly staff who go out of their way to be nice...well most of them. However, the porridge is gloopy and inedible, the buffet breakfast, while plentiful, gets dry very quickly so if you're not first down, or arrive just after replenishment, your teeth will probably stick together. We had a bad first night, but the manager left us a very nice letter and box of chocolates to apologise. The rooms in the annex were not serviced until late in the afternoon, so we had to go back out on one day as they were cleaning our room. The bistro food is good value for money but the restaurant is a bit hit and miss depending, one assumes, on the duty chef. Altogether, it is not bad value but don't expect total satisfaction.

Unfortunately we only had a night at this hotel but it was so pleasant an experience we would have liked to stay longer. Really nice, well appointed room with lots of small touches (chocolates on the pillows, mints, hot chocolate and biscuits along with the tea / coffee selection) - added something extra to the experience. Breakfast very good and all the staff I dealt with were excellent.

The only reservation we had was that the room was very warm and as it was on the ground floor and there was no air conditioning, we sweltered. Otherwise no complaints.

Hopefully we can come back some time.

Situated on the outskirts of Town, it is easily found as you come into Coleraine from Belfast just off the Lodge roundabout. That said no worry about traffic noise. I was in the annex, the room was very large clean and perfectly funtional. TV a bit small though for the size of room.

Staff all very friendly, and couldnt do enough for you - almost too helpful, the lady at breakfast just wouldnt take the hint that I was fine and leave me alone -- I am not a morning person!

Have to say the food was excellent, bot at breakfast, and in the bar for dinner, I chose not to use the restaurant, so cant comment on it. I was there on business at the university and it was very convenient, just a couple of minutes around to road. There was a great buzz in the evenings, although it was the mayday bank holiday weekend, so that may have made a difference. All in all reasonably good value for money.

Stayed at The Lodge at very busy time. Modern low rise building with tons of parking. Easy to find and on edge of town. Bright and very clean well equipped rooms. Modern fittings. Large clean bathroom and lots of nibbles supplied with tea/ coffee. Choice of the bar or restaurants to eat in. Breakfast fairly standard serve yourself full Irish breakfast. Quality very good. There's also a lower key continental option. Dinner seems to attract a middle aged / older crowd. Very busy and good buzzy atmosphere but no so loud you cannot have a conversation. Food quality is good but it's middle of the rod fare well done and well priced.

Above all though it's the staff that make it. Very friendly, helpful and smiling. Cannot do enough and go out of way to check that you are ok. Excellent service in every area from reception to bar to restaurants. Also excellent price and great great value!

Went in on Sat 5 May at 6 pm after seeing the Tea Time Treat advertised on two separate signs outside. An unfriendly waitress showed us to a table, and reached us a menu. I asked could we have the Tea Time Treat - but the answer was 'It's full!' so why it is advertised outside, and why does the sign not say Limited Availability?

The North Coast has so many events this summer, a golden opportunity for local hoteliers to showcase their establishments - but with service like this I wouldn't recommend The Lodge Hotel.

Sorry to read you were disappointed with our service provided on Saturday 5th May. The menu referred to (tea time treat) is indeed very popular, and the demand recently is proving to be much higher than normal, so much so, that we may have to look at extending the seating area allocated for this menu. We would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention, and hopefully this one visit will not deter you from visiting again.

My husband and I stayed in the Lodge Hotel for one night - I was sorry we weren't staying longer. The staff were really friendly - from the receptionists right through to the staff in the breakfast restaurant - they couldn't do enough for us. The hotel had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and yet I found the service etc to be very efficient.

We were accommodated in the annex - big rooms, spotlessly clean...great value. In fact the tea and coffee facilities included biscuits....little details like that are sadly missing from the majority of establishments now...but not 'The Lodge'.

I would highly recommend 'The Lodge Hotel' to anyone looking for a break on the North Coast.
