“Shrewsbury Lodge- Warm, Welcoming and Wonderful”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

I have just had a second stay at this wonderful hotel. It really is a 5 Star plus experience. I have stayed in the most luxurious hotels in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and have to say this hotel is everything and more. Nick and Julie are wonderful hosts. The hotel is so comfortable and the food amazing. Central location to Liverpool makes commuting so easy. Thank you so much for making our stay so special.

I recently attended a summers wedding at the Shrewsbury Lodge Hotel and can say that I was extremely impressed with everything provided on the day, from the food to the service which was given. The staff were always on hand and made myself and all other guests feel very welcome.

I would certainly recommend the Shrewsbury Lodge Hotel.

We held our daughters wedding reception at the Shrewsbury Lodge Hotel on Friday 6th June. The dining area was decorated beautifully and was enough to fit 20 of us comfortably on one table with plenty of room for more. Upon arrival we were given a warm and friendly welcome by the owners Nick and Julie. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We had an excellent meal, all cooked fresh on the premises by Nick, which garnered many wonderful comments from guests. The wedding photos were taken in the beautiful front garden filled with flowers and greenery. For anyone looking for a wedding venue we can highly recommend the Shrewsbury Lodge Hotel. We stayed one night at Shrewsbury Lodge whilst attending a party locally. Our room was (15) was large and comfortable and with a large en-suite shower room. The room was clean and quiet too. I found the mattress a bit hard but this is very much a matter for the individual. Having said that, it didn't keep me awake!
One minor criticism is that there were no glasses in the room for a bedside glass of water so we washed out our cups instead.
A large car park was at the rear so no on-street parking necessary. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had assumed on booking that breakfast was included but was informed on arrival that this incurred an additional charge. I should perhaps have studied the hotels website more carefully.

We ventured up to the Wirral recently for a family wedding. The Shrewsbury Lodge Hotel was a lucky find on the internet, as it was ideally placed for the ceremony at Wallasey Town Hall and the party afterwards in Upton. We couldn't have been made more welcome from the minute we arrived, to the minute we left (and with all our silly questions in between). Nothing was too much trouble, including directions to the lovely village restaurants and pubs, plus taxi's to get from 'a to b'. I even left something behind in the room and it was forwarded on by post. We enjoyed the whole of our short break because we were made to feel so at home. We had a full English breakfast every day, which was always wonderful, home cooked food. The room was really confortable and spacious. Next time we go to teh area, we'll be happy to stay again,

Room Tip: Room in the roof very spacious and private.

The hotel was a cozy one, with very helpful staff. We got upgraded without any extra cost! It's about 15 minutes drive with a taxi to the centre of Liverpool, and costs around £13. The staff will help with this

We had a really nice stay at The Shrewsbury Lodge. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We were attending a wedding in the Wirral area and they were very great at offering recommendations about the local area and taxi bookings. The room was clean and tidy as you'd expect with a comfy bed. Plenty of parking too, and a good breakfast.
