Attended a wedding on Friday 11th July was an amazing day after the ceremony in local church back here for champagne and delicious canapes in the lovely garden. The food was amazing and staff and service could not be faulted nothing too much trouble for anyone of them.
Think one of the comfiest hotel beds ever slept on , great size rooms very comfortable .

My family have just finished a 4 night stay at Riverhill at our recommendation, as we are local to Oxton. They were visiting from Ireland. They stayed in room 10 and were very much enamored with the everything about their stay. The room, the staff, the service and the general idillic surroundings of a quiet, leafy English village. Though being literally minutes from the M53 motorway, Birkenhead and the bustle of Liverpool, they commented how relaxing and peaceful the hotel and it's surroundings were. They were treated so well by all the staff and found everyone very friendly. Their room was beautiful, spacious and very, very clean. We joined them for dinner at the hotel one evening and the food, as always, was spot on. I want to thank every member of staff at Riverhill for looking after my family and the brilliant hospitality you showed us and them. I hope to see you again for dinner soon.

A lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, room was spacious and comfortable, bed was the comfiest I had ever slept in, it had lots of lovely pillows which were amazing. I had an evening meal and breakfast at the hotel and the food was fab. The grounds are well kept and the bar and reception area all nice. There was nothing at all to complain about and would really recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonable priced hotel.

Having moved back to the area after 17 years we came for a meal on our wedding anniversary. The first thing to say is that food was good, unadventurous, but solid in a home cooking kind of way. The service was perfectly competent and we enjoyed ourselves. But there were a few things that chipped way at the overall experience. The dining room is nicely decorated in a traditional style but the bar, where diners are guided for an aperitif, is several notches below ( eg naff prints hanging squint in the wall) and even in the dining room there are little things which let down the ambience such a number of duff bulbs in the the wall lights. The main downer, however, was that before we had finished our meal ( and just to be clear this was 9.30 not midnight) the staff started rearranging all the tables in the dining room ready for a function the next day! That is just rude! So, some good food but I can't see us coming back again; well may be in another 17 years!

Rather than stay in Liverpool and pay for a taxi under the Mersey to get to our main target, the Fraiche restaurant in Oxton, we decided to try out this hotel which is within easy walking distance. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, the room was decent enough if a bit on the small side, although very good value, and we will certainly keep it in mind for our next visit to the area.
