The accomodation is basic. It is warm, clean and comfortable. it is a pity there is no breakfast room. I needed a stronger light for reading, and the shower light was not working. Both issues were resolved quickly and efficiently. For public transport there is a bus every 15 minutes to Birkenhead bus station then it is easy to travel to Liverpool.

Room Tip: The twin bedded room was larger than the double.

Room was clean, though the table lamp wire was dodgy and made lamp flicker a lot, we were going to advise the hotel when we checked out but there was only a little old cleaning lady available. The bedding was nice and clean, the room cosy. Bathroom was set out with plenty of freshly laundered towels, but the shower looked a bit grimey & my razor, which id left in the cubicle from the morning, had been removed when i got back in the afternoon (assume it had been thrown out as couldn't find it). The mirror light wasn't working nor was the extractor fan, so it got extremely hot and steamy in the bathroom, which made me feel faint. Tea & coffee facilities in the room was good & there was a hair dryer (albeit looked old fashioned) and a trouser press to use for free within the room. Breakfast was as previous reviewer said, a table in the hall with a selection of muffins, croissants and cereals. Though, as i don't eat much that was on offer, i made do with a cherry and a choc muffin for breakfast the first morning, the second morning the basket hadn't been topped up so i didn't have breakfast at all and there was only toffee left (trivial i know, but i left the hotel, for a long journey home, starving). Apart from that was a good little hotel & the restaurant provides a 10% discount for residents of the hotel, so that was a nice touch :)Location is good if your a football fan, right across the road from stadium and close enough to the town centre to either walk into, drive or catch a bus around the corner. plenty of shops near by too.

To be fair to the b&b I paid £35 for a single room. The rooms are above an Italian restaurant so you would think they would be good at breakfast, however, they offer a continental breakfast which is basically a table outside the bedrooms in the hall with a toaster, a bread bin, cartons of orange juice and croissants n plastic bags. The room itself for £35 was very good with an ensuite shower room. It was clean and tidy but one of the drawers on the cupboard had fell off. Tea and coffee facilities were fine. I couldn't get bbc1 on the tv either. You have to check in in the Italian restaurant underneath which did smell very good. It is directly opposite the football ground so if you don't want to be anything to do with football leave it on a Saturday but from my point of view it was great because I cold park my car in the car park which made it easy for football as well. The staff were friendly as well. As I say, if you want a cheap b&b it is fine and does a job but if you expect more go somewhere else.
