Owner description: Coughton Court has been home to the Throckmorton family for 600 years, this finest of Tudor houses stands testament to a family's courage in maintaining their beliefs. From a position of high favour to one of fear and oppression post-Reformation, the Throckmortons were leaders in a dangerous age, helping to bring about Catholic emancipation in the 19th century. Explore this story of fascinating personalities through the 'family album' of portraits and Catholic treasures around the house. Coughton is still very much a family home with an intimate feel: the Throckmorton family live here, managing the stunning gardens which they have created.

Although we didn't go around the house, we had a lovely walk around the gardens which were well kept. There is also a riverside walk to enjoy & of course an icecream to finish off a lovely sunny afternoon

Another fascinating National Trust property well worth a visit. Situated in beautiful countryside, it is a very pleasant day out. Contrary to another report parking was free for us being members although we were not inclined to pay extra to go into the walled garden. Walled gardens are common in the grounds of historic properties and having visited numerous such places we were curious why there was a charge for this one (but not that curious to pay a visit and be charged!).

Loved the extensive ground and the children really liked the walks. A relaxing and refreshing way to spend some quality time with the family.

A really interesting little gem and a great Cafe/Restaurant. Sunday Lunch is very good. Great literary festival and occasional events in the gardens which are always well run and well attended
