We were looking for a hotel to allow us a relaxed few days of holiday, and lit upon Arrow Mill. We were not to be disappointed. Our welcome was warm, the staff friendly and fun, and the kitchen under the supervision of Simon, the proprietor, produced food which showed the hallmark of culinary genius. The setting, in an old water mill, astride the little River Arrow, could not be bettered. Nothing we asked was too much trouble and the atmosphere of relaxed informality suited us perfectly. We had a wonderful time, and shall be back.

My personal thanks to Scott, Sam, Michelle, Agnes and Simon. Oh, and the chickens!

We are local to the Arrow Mill and have been for the past twenty five years but sadly have never dined in this lovely restaurant before. The Hotel stands in beautiful grounds and boasts a water mill.

On arrival we were greeted by Sam who was pleasant and helpful. She took our drinks order and brought us the menus; these had seen better days but despite this the contents were well priced and there was an excellent choice of wines and dishes. I ordered a glass of champagne, which arrived flat immediately it was taken away and a new bottle opened; it was pleasant not to have to argue the point.

The restaurant over looks a beautiful pond, which is full of wildlife and we enjoyed watching a Heron hunting for its meal as we ate ours The Arrow Mill offers two or three course menus, which are sensibly priced and all the food is prepared on the premises from the bread to the ice cream. I must have a gluten free diet and bread was provided for me and my choices checked for any gluten by the waiting staff, which gave me great confidence in the restaurant. The food itself was pleasantly presented and full of flavour. Our waiter Scott was a delightful young man who again was willing to assist and was happy to spend time with us when we asked questions.

We most certainly will be returning and hopefully it will be a warm summer’s day so we can take advantage of sitting in the sunshine enjoying our drinks and the view.

A truly excellent meal one of the best Sunday lunches ever. We went in February and the weather was a bit dreary and so sadly was the interior. When we arrived there was just one we assume local in the bar and around 18 in the restaurant. This place should be packed with the beautiful food on offer the service was good too. Maybe it looks better in the summer.

A group of eight family went here as it was close to where we were all staying and known to one family member. The food was excellent and the setting in an old mill is very special.
I think for the first course we all ate Baked button mushrooms, smoked bacon, armagnac, garlic cream and meleted cheese. I found this very tasty although one of the group found it too rich. To follow we had between us, Very finest Harmony Farm 28 day dry aged Angus sirloin steak. Masala marinated slow cooked shank of lamb, asoori methi fenugreek gravy. Honey glazed duck breast, kitchen garden spinach and beetroot. Roasted cod loin, cheese crumb, chorizo, tomato and butter beans. That was the whole main course menu covered apart from a vegetarian dish. Everyone found their main course delicious. There were also some excellent chips for everyonee to help themselves to. For puddings most chose the pancakes with real ice cream, oranges and Grand Marnier. I found this very good if a little too much of the Grand Marnier. This is an excellent restaurant, although the wine list is good but pricey and they shoulds introduce some cheaper everyday wines.

Room Tip: We did not stay but merely dined here.
