I stayed in the best room in the house room number 10 and wow. Very spacious, great amenities and a wonderful large bed. Ate in the restaurant and had an excellent dining experience with a great atmosphere and I would highly recommend it. Overall first class :)

My wife and I stayed here overnight for a visit to a local event, and had reserved what was claimed to be the best room of the inn. It was certainly large enough, but suffered from an unpleasant odour. My wife who is very sensitive to smells had to spray scent around to mask the odour. The decor was not to my taste, being mainly black and grey. There was not enough attention to detail or to cleanliness. On arrival I found that the remote did not work correctly and the batteries had leaked into the device, although they were quickly replaced by a member of staff. I kept banging my head on one of the two chandeliers, and some of the bulbs were broken. A curtain over the small window did not quite cover it. The hot tap of the basin was very difficult to turn off. There were cobwebs on the chandelier, and dirty marks on the brass doorplates. The inn is also situated on a busy main road, and unfortunately we could hear some traffic during the night which was not conducive to a good night's sleep. Breakfast was reasonable.

Shame really, nice location, pretty pub but disappointing. Firstly I stayed in the much maligned room 7,£40 a night. It is small, exceptionally hot and positioned just above the dart board. Three nights of raucousness, laughter and disturbance led me to stay in the bar to see who was responsible - to my surprise the owner and kitchen staff were mainly to blame. Banging doors, squeaky floor boards, mouldy grout and black silicone in the shower, incredibly dirty shower head, the list goes on. Oh and one integral part of a shower is water, which was often optional depending on when you dared get in.
Overall disappointing. The staff are bizarrely made to clean the bar during the evening shift making the place smell of brasso and cleaning fluid, not conducive to eating. Food over prices small portions and the beer was expensive. One highlight was a particular barmaid, she was stunning and much wasted in a place like this.

If you are going to write a review please get your facts right first.
The 4 gentlemen playing darts each night were tradesmen staying here not me & my kitchen team who ever only have a couple of drinks after work. The pub was shut by midnight each night so not sure how this would impact on your sleep when you didn't go upstairs until gone 23.00.
We have a 500 Ltr tank upstairs which is more than enough water to cope with 10 rooms. Rm 7 has been stayed in every night since your departure with great comments about the food & their stay & is certainly not dirty.
The brass trays are done every night around the corner away from the restaurant you actually made a comment Wednesday night to Hayley whilst she was doing them " You have lots of fun working here"
We always courtesy check every meal going out of the kitchen. We pride ourselves hear preparing all the food onsite with fresh local ingredients where possible.
If anyone is not happy when they visit hear all they need to do is say & we will always do everything we can to make them happy.
Kind Regards
Steve

Very handy location for our nearby office when staying over. First time here, tried after other disappointing places. Limited breakfast, no cooked options but fine for me, cereal etc ok. Must say this is one of the cleanest rooms ever stayed across all levels of hotels. Great friendly service. Thank you to staff and well done.

We visited here recently, having purchased a groupon voucher for a two course meal with coffee, and having booked several weeks in advance. When we arrived, the bar manager was quite flippant with us, told us straight away that he had no record of us having booked, without even looking at his diary! We felt quite dismayed at the lack of welcome and we felt we were made to feel second rate citizens. The food, when it came, was nice and the other waiting on staff were friendly and professional.

Thank you for your feedback
After speaking to the Bar Manger he remembered your visit. As part of his role he would check the bookings dairy at the start of each shift and knew we had not got any Groupon written in the dairy for that night. Unfortunately when you booked it must of been written down incorrectly. Groupon has been a great success here in-fact I have now run a deal for the last 6 moths. As a result of your feedback I have now re-trained all the team members to make sure this will not happen again.
I'm glad you enjoyed your food and hope to see you here again.
Kind Regards
Steve

Booked a 2 night stay in a luxury room but had to change at the last minute to accommodate our new puppy, so was given a standard room, the room was lovely, with a view over open fields, comfortable and exceptionally clean. Staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was divine- highly recommend the steaks, chicken terrine, lamb kofta, sausage and mash and chicken with garlic mushroom sauce (the mash is superb) Lovely big garden for dogs (or non dog owners) Short journey into Stratford (taxi fare £20) or drive in to park and ride. Coughton Hall across the road. Breakfasts are very filling with serve yourself tea/coffee, cereals, juices and make your own toast with cooked English (on weekends) served to table. Bar area is lovely and accommodates dogs, lovely sofas to relax on, while the restaurant overlooks the stunning countryside. Definitely worth a visit and one hotel that we will most certainly return to. Tiniest down side was that the pillows were a bit flat, but we still slept well.

Room Tip: we had room 5- a standard room overlooking the fields- it does have the flue from the kitchen direct...

Dropped into this pub for lunch, the car park was busy- always normally a good sign.
Board outside offering 1 or 2 course sunday lunches, but when sat down only a three course option given for £19.95. ( we really only had time for one). First course average. Second course beef roast with yorkshires - beef was like a piece of old shoe leather, spuds where rock hard and no yorkshires- had to remind waitress (who was very nice and run off her feet).
Really disappointing, could be so much better with a bit of effort.
Should've complained when receiving the bill, but it's not the british way !
