Booked Sunday lunch for six as had my parents and grandparents visiting. From ordering it took around 35 mins to get our main course and when it arrived it couldn't have been more average, only one small slice of beef, overdone veggies and dry parsnips. Good yorkies but a disappointing roast dinner. We then had to clear our own table as they obviously didn't have enough staff on, tables were left dirty fr ages after customers had left and services was seriously slow. Took ages to order dessert as only one person at the bar and everyone ordering food and drinks there. When we did get served she was grumpy and barking order at the staff over our heads. wont be going back anytime soon, a real disappointment.
We are pleased that you like the new Stag but are equally disappointed that you didn't enjoy the experience. We thank you for your honesty and the whole team will work hard to get it right every time. Please make youself known to Simon the manager next time you are in the area and he will ensure that you have a wonderful visit.
In the countryside 5 minutes driving from Stratford upon Avon, nice typical cottage, clean and comfortabe. There's the possibility to have dinner at the pub, slow service but good food at reasonable price
Thank you for the lovely comments. It really does lift the team when they hear that guests have had a lovely stay with us.Lets hope that you stay with us again when you visit this wonderful part of the UK.
what a lovely comfortable place to stay, rooms have very comfy beds, the quilts are so soft and deep you just fall into them, showers are good - the real ales and food are very well prepared and served - and even though the room faced the main road the windows seemed to hold out a lot of the traffic sounds, I will stop here again for sure, they are just such nice people
We can't thank you enough for taking the time to write such lovely comments. We are proud of our beers and love it when guests sing their praises. We all agree that the beds are fantastic, so much that I bought one myself. We hope you do stay with us again and look forward to it being equally as enjoyable.
There was some slight confusion with our telephoned booking and the friendly man who checked us in confessed he needed to call the young lady "who knew how to do these things". We were allocated Room 4 which met our approval on first viewing due to its spaciousness. The bed proved to be as comfortable as it looked and we slept well with no outside noise to disturb us. There was no bath in the bathroom but this suited us for two nights. The shower had plenty of hot water but it was a challenge to have it flow from the correct shower head without being scolded. The shower had mould growing on the ceiling and appeared overall to be grubby with lingering hairs. It would seem that cleaning in the bathroom as a whole was limited. There were accumulated cobwebs, dust and hairs behind the bathroom door at ground level, along the skirting board between this door and the shower cubicle and even more behind the washbasin and the toilet. I know because I dropped the lid from my toothpaste. Retrieving it was not pleasant! .The lack of cleanliness is the reason for our "average" rating though we realise this is an old building and not so easy to keep clean. However, the carpet in the bedroom could have done with a good vacuuming which surely is not so difficult. In the morning, we took advantage of the buffet for fruit/cereals before enjoying a freshly cooked breakfast which was plentiful, delicious and set us up for the day. Why do these establishments insist on serving toast with the cooked breakfast? By the time we are ready to enjoy the toast, it is hard and cold! The lady serving our breakfast was efficient and seemed to be run off her feet which probably accounts for her rather severe and not altogether friendly persona. Checking out was quick and friendly.
Thanks for the honsest feedback from your stay.Housekeeping have been shown your comments and are mortified and have rectified the issues you highlighted.I'm glad it didn't spoil your stay with us and hope to see you again if you are in the area.
We were here November first time and well impressed . Xmas back with friends and still A1 . This weekend back with my mother . We had room 9 a suite prior ,this time room 1 . 2 floors and spiral stairs . Clean and tidy . Room 2 also very nice. We had food in the day and evening and all were well impressed. Drink and wine reasonable Peroni on tap . The gardens are a treat . If you visit take a look in the function room a hidden gem . Breakfast Excellent and until 12am so no pressure to get out of bed . We think value for money all around and will be back soon . Great staff and service from everyone .
