We stayed at Orchard House 2 Nov 12 and were hugely impressed by the genuine welcome, the cosy quality of the room, the decor, the feel of the place, the little touches and the prompt, plentiful and delicious breakfast. The hosts could not do enough for us but they weren't in any way obtrusive. I just wish we were down that way more often to take advantage of what must be one of the finest B&Bs in the country. Why pay daft prices for expensive hotels when you can have a much nicer stay at Orchard House. Very highly recommended. Many thanks to the proprietors.

I stayed at the Orchard House with my son and parents for the weekend, as we were 'dropping' my son off at university. I would describe the B & B as 'quaint.' It was situated in a lovely quiet village that had 2 pub / restaurants as well as a coffee shop and newsagent. Susan is a great host with a vast knowledge of the local area and amenitites. Breakfast is served in your room as there is no dining room, and we found this a nice touch. The road to Orchard House is unadopted and you need caution when driving down to the B & B. I would fully recommend Orchard House.

Ideally situated just a short drive from the motorway, but quiet at the same time, we stayed here in Sept 2009. We had the front downstairs room with our own front door. We were on our way to Southampton so an ideal place to stay. No rushing down the Motorway (on the day of departure) from the north of England. There is a great pub within 5 mins walking, the food is very good and reasonably priced, or it was! We shall find out soon as we are going back there again on Tuesday 18th Sept. We are going back to Orchard House as well. We are on our way to the port again. I cannot rate this B&B highly enough, ideal for touring the local area as Winchester is quite close.

Room Tip: Only ever had the one, downstairs at the front. Being down a quiet road not much noise at all!

This bed and breakfast is well run by Susan and Mark Flemon. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, if not a little dated but our visit to this area was not with the intention of staying in the room all the time. That said; the location is in a very quiet lane and caution is required as the road is unadopted and quite rough. Each room had all the facilities that was needed. Our hosts were very helpful with local knowledge and recommends that were tested out. This is a good location for going in and out of Winchester. We took the bus to Winchester from Twyford, buses running quite regularly a very short walk from the B & B. There are pubs which serve food in Twyford but our host recommended one very close by which proved excellent. Breakfast was wholesome, plentiful and very well cooked setting us up for a busy day visiting relatives. We would use this bed and breakfast again when visiting this area. Our only comment was no top sheet under the continental quilt, which is a must when the night is hot and a light cover is required.

This is an excellent B & B well located when travelling from the north to the Portsmouth ferries in our case, located on a quiet side road in a secure area. Our room was an external room with our own external access door. The room was well equipped with all our needs including a flat screen TV.
We were welcomed by the owner who without hesitation offered and booked us an evening meal in one of the recommended village pubs, she also gave directions and loaned us a torch, believe me a torch is required, the side road has only got the odd street light until you reach the main road (150mtrs)
A good hearty English breakfast was served to our room.

Room Tip: Our room was the only room with its own external door, your preference.

Stayed for 4 nights in November with surprisingly warm weather.
Arrived a lot earlier than expected but that wasn't a problem for the friendly hostess, Susan.
Room 2 is comfortable, lacking drawer space but everything else was fine. Power shower was great.
Breakfasts went down very well; toast, followed toast followed toast!
The house is only a short walk from 2 pubs, the Bugle and the Phoenix, and the Post Office/shop. Bit of a squeeze for parking.
The Bugle is more Gastro, comfortable, relatively expensive. The Phoenix is more of a typical pub, friendly host, good food, reasonable price.
Twyford is 3 miles from Winchester, convenient for Portsmouth and the New Forest.

Very basic room & facilities.. Breakfast in the room a bit cramped. Hostess very pleasant and helpful. Reminds me of a b&b from the 70's or 80's that was best in class at the time, but has not evolved. .....Must stress it was not a 'bad stay', just rather basic.
