Whitehill Farm House
Reviewed 19 August 2013

I recently stayed at the Whitehill Farm House for my cousins wedding. Travelling with my parents and partner we recieved a warm welcome from Maud and were instantly made to feel at home. The farm is located on Ballyquin Road just on the edge of Limavady itself. Lots of parking out front too. The B&B is around a 1hr 20min drive from Belfast.

The guest rooms are located in a self contained building to the back of the main house. It contains three rooms, two of which were ensuite (the final room, more or less had sole use of the bathroom on the hallway). Our room, a double, had the bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a small table next to the bed. The en-suite had a standup shower and the toilet. No TV so, if you need it, plan ahead of entertainment while in the room.

Breakfast was provided in the dining room which formed the connection between the guest rooms and the main house. Maud and Olive cooked a wonderful Irish breakfast for both mornings of our stay and they certainly left us well fed.

If your looking to explore the northern coast of Northern Ireland you really can't go wrong with this B&B. While it may not be the most luxurious of places, it is warm, comfortable and you'' certainly get more attentive service here!

Thanks to Maud and Olive for a most comfortable and lovely stay. My friend and I had the family ensuite room last night. We were in Limavady for a music festival and enjoyed our whole weekend immensely. I spoke to Maud beforehand to arrange for key collection and timings. Whitehill provided a lovely friendly welcome and was well-located for where we needed to be. Beds were very comfortable and the whole little annex was very clean and homely. Breakfast was wonderful! Plentiful and freshly made. Best cup of tea I've had in a long while! If I ever need to be in Limavady again I would not hesitate to book again with Maud. And all for £28 each! Could not have been happier.

If you are looking for a typical Irish B&B Experience, Whitehill is it. It is situated on a farm about a little over a mile out of Limavady. There is a sidewalk to town if you are up for the walk. You will be warmly greeted by Maud, the proprietor & shown to your room. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 ensuite and one with a bath across the hall. The bedrooms are small but adequate, lacking only a place to put your suitcase. Of the ensuite rooms, one has a double bed and the other has a double and a twin. The smaller room (across from the bathroom) has two twin beds and is slightly cheaper at 25 pounds/person versus 28 pounds/person for the other rooms. The bathrooms are small but clean with a small stand-up shower. Shower soap is provided but no shampoo. Maud will provide a hair dryer for you upon request. There is a coffee/tea station with cookies available at all times. Breakfast is served between 7 & 9AM. You can choose a continental breakfast or a full Irish breakfast with bacon (looks like ham to us), sausage, poached eggs, potato pancakes, toast, jam, juice & coffee or tea.

Room Tip: We prefer the ensuite rooms. If it is available, the family room provides a little extra space if y...
