I was lucky enough yesterday, 11the June 2014, to travel with a party from Hezlet Court in Coleraine to Letterkenney, and, on the way back we stopped off at the Drummond Hotel for a meal .... and what a meal we had ... The hotel was very spacious and a warm ambiance greeted you immediately. The roses on the small tables at reception were so fragrent, you could smell them the whole way thru ... absolutely delightful ...
The staff (male and female) were very courteous and polite, and could not do enough for us, the background music was just right .. not to low, but not too high ... just a perfect compliment to the meal. The type of music just suited the occasion, , down to a tee. Perfect.
Most of us, including myself, had the stuffed turkey and ham with all the trimmings for the main course and what a delight to eat. Each individual item was cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were like clouds ... light and fluffy .. the turkey and ham was very tasty and the gravey helped to bring out the extra flavours, but didn't deter from the separate tastes of the individual vegetables, like miniature cauliflower, carrots, brocolli etc ... all in all a very perfect tasty meal.
For the sweet most had the (what I cannot pronounce) ... it looked like 4 wee miniature doughnuts filled with fresh cream and a chocolate coating, then covered with cream and little chocolate sticks ... oh my goodness, the pastry was so light and the cream so beautiful ... hmm.. out of this world... highly recommened ...
The dining room itself was exquisitly decorated with large beautiful mirrors, high backed seats (very comfortable) and a plentyful supply of water with ice ... the little red lamp shades around the walls and the 'flush with the ceiling' press in lights, made the whole room Very friendly, comfortable and warm. A truely delightful eating experience.
The staff, male and female, could honestly not do enough for us, and we were Very impressed indeed .... so much so, that, hopefully we will make a return journey in the not too distant future.
I have seen some bad reviews .. and I honestly can't see where they get this negative attitiude from. We had and absolutely delightful time and were very impressed overall. I can highly recommend, 110%, the Drummond Hotel. It was an absolute pleasure to dine in this very spacious building and the staff are an absolute credit to the company. And, of course, credit must go to the chef and his "little helpers" for an absolutely incredible, mouth-watering meal.

Thank you one and all, individually, for giving us such a wonderful day out ......

Kindest regards,
Brian Adams..

Driving through Ireland and looking for a B & B and found one across the road from The Drummond. How lucky were we as the food was very reasonable and delicious. Wine had a good selection and also very reasonable. Would recommend to anyone. Great staff as well.

We did not stay here but dined in the bistro. The food was very good and the service was very friendly. But why do they have 2 tv's on with 2 DIFFERENT programs? Very annoying during dinner. If loud, competing tv's would not bother you, I can recommend the bistro.

Had two night stay as part of a group conference held there. I was pleasantly surprised at the wonderful peaceful and homely atmosphere. The spacious room was comfortable and the staff very helpful. The food was of a high standard and most enjoyable. A rare feature of the hotel was its own oratory where I found abundant peace and serenity. The only disturbance to the weekend was some rowdy bar customers for a period one night but this did not take from a most enjoyable stay and will definitely return again in the not too distant future.
