There was a fire in the hearth and it should have been cheerful but the pub has lost any sole that it had, it is stark with white walls and no pub atmosphere. There was one other person and he was sat by the fire.
The lunch that we had was very good but like the beer, expensive.
I feel sorry for the pub because it deserves to be so much better but there is something amiss and I don't know what it is. I should and want to be able to sing it's praises but I just can't!
Over the past 30 years we've seen this pub through it's highs and it's lows and I fear that it is heading for another low.
