“Too much to cram in!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2013

We were very excited last year to discover longleat was open over Xmas and enjoyed our visit. It didn't disappoint again this year! The only thing with visiting at this time of year is struggling to fit everything in. Although it is advertised as open late most attractions close at 3, which was quite a shame as the sun didn't set for at least another hour! If you are going at this time of year plan wisely and make sure you do the things you want to do first and get there early. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit though and we struggled to decide which was our favourite attraction!

“Great 2 days”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 December 2012

Hoghly recommend the 2 day saver ticket for Longleat. It gives you enough time to see what you want to see, at your own pace, and then see the things you really like a 2nd time! We found the tour of the earl of longleats paintings hilarious ( the tour guides are very circumspect, bt you'll quickly guess why the earl dosent take his artwork on exhibits!), the fair ground attractions were fun in particular the adventure playground, and the drive thru animal enclosures so good we did them twice. Be warned though, the monkeys will seriously wreck your car, the warnings are for real!!

“Longleat in torrential rain!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 December 2012 via mobile

It was or first visit to Longleat today with young children. We really enjoyed ourselves in spite of the adverse weather conditions.

Highlights: Feeding the seals raw fish in the lake on a trip to see the gorillas. We saw no gorillas sadly but the seals were great. Feeding rainbow lorikeets. Few queues as winter. Cheaper entry as winter prices. The house and all its history. The mirror maze.

Lowlights: The train wasn't working as it becomes the Santa train in December. So this means you pay extra to use it if you desire (we didn't). Shame we couldn't see some of the animals - gutted you can't see the indoor space of the gorillas. They hate rain so you won't see them on days like today. The singing Christmas tree only works after 4pm.. too late for little children. Didn't rate Tropical Storm Cafe as my child (and others) scared by the noise! Good for older children. Food ok but pricey of course.

Will visit again.

“Wonderful Christmas event day, with Santa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 December 2012

Awesome day at Longleat, with not only the safari and other standard attractions, but enhanced by the brilliant Santa Wonderland experience, including magical train ride to Santaland, the visit to his grotto and the ice rink. This is the second year we have made the trip for the Christmas events, and we think they are truly magical!
