Description: Our beautiful pub is located in the stunning village of Stockton. We are very much a traditional English pub that offers a range of fine Real Ales. We are not a restaurant or Gastropub, Friday is all about the Fish, fresh Cod caught the evening before delivered to us straight from the boat fried to perfection using our very own beer batter. Please phone in advance as this is very popular. We like to support local and micro breweries with a wide selection of real ales always available. We pride ourselves on the way we keep our beers and you can always try before you buy. We have had many people tell us that we have the best beer garden in Wiltshire! The only problem is people didn't realise we had one. We are located close to the A36 and the A303, so if you are heading down to the West Country on holiday on returning north then please follow the signs towards Wylye/Stockton. We look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful traditional English country pub. We only offer food on Friday evening during the summer months, however we always have a good range of snacks available.

My Wife, two lads and our Dalmatian, Mr Todd paid a visit to the Carriers to break our journey onto Kent.
The lady behind the bar was so very welcoming and the locals in the bar were very friendly too. All made the atmosphere that much more enjoyable.
The food was great, homemade burgers were fantastic and I'm not a fan of burgers, but these are something else. Wish all pubs could be like this.
We'll be making this our stop in future now the pub in Wyle has closed down.

14 of us stopped here for dinner on Saturday after a day trip to London from Devon (we had booked). Lovely looking country pub with good selection of beers on tap and hosts were very friendly.
Saturday night is steak night and they were able to deal very efficiently with our 14 orders (which we were all paying for seperately as well!). Our meals were brought out in good time, wonderfully cooked and very tender & tasty(Ribeye MR, with home cut chips and field mushrooms). Looking around the table, everyone else had also enjoyed their steaks as there were 14 clean plates.
Even if it does mean a slight detour, The Carriers makes a great place to break a journey up or down the A303 and I will certainly be doing so next time I make this trip. Glad it was recomended to us as it means I no longer have to stop at a Little Chef !

Dropped in on a sat afternoon for a bite to eat and a couple of beers, Owners and locals very friendly, and couldn't do enough for you. perfect spot to drop in off the A36 for a pit stop. Dog friendly and cosy fenced in beer garden at the back ideal for small kids.
