Description: Our beautiful pub is located in the stunning village of Stockton. We are very much a traditional English pub that offers a range of fine Real Ales. We are not a restaurant or Gastropub, Friday is all about the Fish, fresh Cod caught the evening before delivered to us straight from the boat fried to perfection using our very own beer batter. Please phone in advance as this is very popular. We like to support local and micro breweries with a wide selection of real ales always available. We pride ourselves on the way we keep our beers and you can always try before you buy. We have had many people tell us that we have the best beer garden in Wiltshire! The only problem is people didn't realise we had one. We are located close to the A36 and the A303, so if you are heading down to the West Country on holiday on returning north then please follow the signs towards Wylye/Stockton. We look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful traditional English country pub. We only offer food on Friday evening during the summer months, however we always have a good range of snacks available.

Travelled all the way from Glasgow to go here and as was recommend by a good friend. Had a really nice afternoon good food owners friendly. Only problem was lack of signs, nearly ended up in neighbouring pub that was sign posted, apart from that well worth visit defo going back on way home

We booked a table here for an evening family meal. The service throughout from all the members of staff was very good and they were all very friendly and helpful. The menu we selected from was more restricted than the example on the website. I had the crab salad it was served without bread, unlike the one detailed on the website, a real shame as some bread would have made quite a difference. The food was generally good and fresh although the menu was perhaps a little biased towards various salads. The dishes we had were well presented and appetising. Although we didn't have any young children in our group it was obvious from other tables in the Pub that this is a family friendly establishment. Overall a good experience and we'll probably try it again next time we're in the area.

We took lunch there a few weeks back after following signs to another pub which had closed down. The pub was a welcome find as we were in need of a good lunch and we had a lovely lunch. The landlord and landlady had only just moved in and were very friendly and welcoming. The sandwiches were good and reasonably priced. The beer looked good but I was driving.
A perfect place to stop

We called in for an evening meal on our journey between Poole and Bristol and received a friendly welcome from the landlord and staff. We sat in the beer garden which was located at the rear of the pub and the children were entertained by the games supplied. As the food was freshly cooked it took a little while to arrive and was longer than you would expect. There was a delay on bringing out the ploughman's which had no cooking elements to it! The garden flowers looked like a tad bit of TLC was needed; having said that, with that little bit of work the garden would be perfect.
Finally, the landlady was very kind and as my daughter was asking about the beer taps, she was taken to the cellar and had a tour which explained it all . The food was very, very tasty though and we would definetly recommend a visit!

If you're on the A303 travelling between East London and Dartmoor then you are looking for a stop off point half way, close to the main road, and yet secluded enough to relax in. The Carriers Arms is what you are looking for! Delicious food, with local, fresh ingredients, local beers from the area and a genuinely warm welcome. We recharged our batteries fully! We will be travelling this route every few months and we look forward to returning.
