Standard café rouge restaurant, nice spot for lunch in center parcs with little steams and nice landscaping and a small childrens play area. very quiet when we were there, service was good and food was fine.

Great food, shame about the service, very poor table service, long waiting times for drinks and orders and service without a smile and a bit of attitude. Training required I think.

When we were initially seated the waiter was adamant that we could not seat my brother's 2yo at the head of the table, citing that it is against policy to serve food over the head of guests. He wasn't going to back down so instead we had to have an extra table joined to ours with someone sat on it alone. It is worth pointing out that despite this concession, food was in fact served over our heads (as would be expected in any restaurant) so not sure what the fuss was about. Furthermore, for the rest of the meal it felt the waiter was oscillating between being friendly or passive aggressive - but maybe that was just my pessimism after the initial encounter.

The food on the other hand was great! I think this was my first time at a Cafe Rouge but others at the table had been before and they were all very impressed with the food they had and commented on it being better than others in the chain.

The restaurant setting was very nice with a lot of greenery but this is to be expected in the middle of a Centre Parcs plaza!

I would definitely go again...

Cafe Rouge generally delivers good food in pleasant surroundings. Sadly the Longleat Center Parcs restaurant failed to meet expectations on our visit. A barely warm coffee was followed (after a ridiculously long wait) by mediocre food. The staff cleared the plates but not the empty coffee cups and we all ordered pudding. Just how long does it take to put a scoop of ice cream and some meringue in a bowl (apparently close on 50 minutes). It wouldn't have been so bad if the place had been busy but there were only about three tables occupied.

Tuesday night was steak night. Certain steaks were only £12.00
We had rib eye asked for medium to well done and it was the best steak we had ever tasted.... No negative feedback..
